Anyone read Sheeds' column in todays Sunday Herald Sun.
Good to see Sheeds fly the Essendon flag and have a well deserved dig at perrenial Essendon Haters Robert Walls and Mike Sheahan.

Had to laugh at his comment about Only two teams having ceased to exsist in the last few decades, Walls was coach of both of them, lmao.

Go Sheeds, Still much love for ya.

Not in the slightest will it go over the heads of some people. Sheeds is as timely as ever, the Dons look lively again and there he is, quoting the young blokes he foistered upon us in the last three years. He, unquestionably dug a fair bit of our current hole, Knighter will get us out of it.

Personally, I'm not against Dean Dick getting a chance; he's got as much natural talent as anyone and it'd be nice to know what he can do on the big stage.

This is so typical of Sheedy in the last few years...Robert Walls makes ligitimate criticism of the state Sheedy left the list in, and rather than address it (or say nothing and let his earlier record speak for itself), he starts with the name calling.

Walls took a very unsuccessful Fitzroy and led them to their most successful period in 50 years, and then made Brisbane into a finals side, after they'd NEVER had success before. He was responsible for getting the list together with Akers, Voss, Bradshaw, Hart etc. that took them to a prelim in '96.
In between that he won a flag at Carlton.

Up until he lost his edge, Sheedy was brilliant for Essendon, and for that i am eternally grateful...but for him to insinuate Walls was so poor that 2 clubs died is very much a reflection on Sheedy, not Walls.
It just reminds us of the senile old fool that drove us into the ground in his last five years.
It's not as if they both died independantly...they merged for Christ sakes! (the year after bris were in the prelim).

Sheedy deliberately diverts attention from the actual criticism that Walls (and plenty of others) made, by talking about our draft picks in 2006. The hole we're in is because of how deplorably we drafted and traded for years prevous, and we all know it!

The drafting in 2000, 2001 & 2002 was so poor, that i question how much difference it would make to our current list is we never even participayed! Watson i think is a steal under father son...the rest?

Laycock, Winderlich, Walsh, Cartelige, Watson, Alessio, Harvey, Reynolds, O'Keefe, Welsh, Salmon, McAlister (again? shocker.), Davies,Richards, Hunt, Bannister, Bullen, Davis.

Again i'll reiterate that i'm eternally grateful for everything Sheedy did for us for 20 years, but the man is clearly losing his marbles. I read his column each week just for the humour of it.
Any criticism of Sheedy's coaching and list management in the years leading up to his sacking...well...the proof is in the pudding chaps.

At least Walls and Shehan still have their marbles!
