'Officially' Richmond haven't even approached Sheeds according to this morning's HUN.

I think it would be good for Football if Sheeds returned, and good for both clubs. But I dont think it's a goer.

It does raise the future of Mark Harvey though, if Miller really was as astute as some observers believe (i have my reservations) he would be holding out for Harvey, realising Sheedy may be too old to weave the magic anew again.
What is the better scenario? Sheedy abdicates now and Harvey smoothly steps in, has the benefits of experienced players, Hird Lloyd Fletcher Lucas etc. to help Harvey cut his teeth and support him and ease the transition..... or

Sheedy stays on , Harvey loses patience and walks ,the above mentioned players along with the Johnsons and Solomon are all either retired or in the twilights of thier careers , when Sheeds comes out of his next contract, Major dilemma on new coach , big hole in playing list ? Just imagine Harvs goes on to be a gun career coach the ilk of Malthouse , Matthews etc at another club? The time is Nigh Bombers

Harvey may well go and will probably be a great coach but he is unproven. Personally i would like to see Gary O return in a few years. Has played under Sheeds has coached under Mathews.
In the end we will do ok and the hole in the playing list isnt huge, sure we need to develop or get a couple the playing list is still in pretty good shape.

well , thats exactly my point, sheeds has done a magnificent job in establishing EFC as the Man U of AFL, there is little more to be done in that regard....will he lead you to the next flag any quicker than a harvs , gary o or anyone else...i dont think so....

The aura that goes with sheeds would go a long way to relaunching the RFC....we need him more than you guys

I dont really care about re launching Richmond. The Tigers have dug their own hole. Sheeds has more value than just coaching, lets face it wih the help of Sheeds and several smart boards Essendon have come from just an also ran with average support in the 70's to what it is today. I would hope the club sees fit to give him another role once his coaching role is finished.
Anyway how can anyone say what goals Sheeds has, he may be driven to get back to the top and dethrone Brisbane which he would have no hope of doing at Richmond.

Oh well slugger, we'll see who gets lucky first...me or the Bombers...i wouldn't hold my breath though.....Essendon has become Brisbanes punk and StKilda, and melbourne and anyone else with claims on the flag....

Only 3-4 clubs?
Richmond has been, still is and will be everyone's punk(15 clubs)!

Looking interesting now though isn`t it ? Just imagine this little scenario Bombers . Just say the second half of the years completely craps out , you even miss the finals , Mark Harvey walks , you`ve got Sheeds wrapped up like a blanket on a three year contract , looking decidedly shaky even a little senile ?

Maybe we shouldn`t have moved so quickly to lock him in hey ?

Maybe you should have gotten out of the Sheedy comfort zone ? Could he be a little too old to re-invent himself this time ?

If he's true to his word, he'll spend the rest of this year and next year throwing in more youngsters. I'd be content with him doing that.

I think that Sheedy is past his prime. We need new bloody. Mark Harvey should be coaching the Bombers. You could see through the mistakes he made last week against North

I have huge respect for Sheeds but i think there's a time when you just have to move on. Bad decision to resign him, it should have been 1 year more or nothing. The way we are going, it will be 5th-8th place for the next few years which isnt really what we want.
