Abbott got Burns with a full toss that he missed however it was a great set up from Abbott. Had been bowling back of the length that neither Burns or Renshaw could get away then the full one was totally surprised Burns.

Bollocks decision against Khawaja. Always going over.
I went back to watch the wicket and thought he must have also had an LBW shout the ball before the dismissal. Then I realised that was the dismissal. It was definitely going over.

They must've put a lot of work into the pitch to have it look like that, it's insanely dry in Brisbane.

Watched the start of the game. Disappointing to see Renshaw get bogged down. He looked very solid early. Labuschange must think this is the Ashes again with everyone falling around him

Starc is done

The few overs I saw early in the day didn't exactly look great. He scored but he was still finding the edge and lunging very far forward. Probably a bit lucky to survive as long as he did.

Good pitch for cricket though it must be said

One thing I've noticed with Smith is he's very good at 'saving' his runs. He'll often make a start in a tour match for instance and get himself out yet we never see that in a test match.
Don’t think he cares as much at state level. He is the most single minded and determined batsmen I have seen. I think he understands how mentally draining that is so when he plays for NSW he plays with a bit more freedom

Also you won’t ever see more contrasting days then day one in the Vic v SA game compared to day one at the Gabba. They have to do something to get some life in the wickets here

Commentators on crack. Watched the Labuschagne dismissal 3 times and no idea how they think that was hitting. Missing by a mile.

Gannon needs to be banned again. That action is a joke.

Good to see Moises out cheaply again. Complete hack.

Probably motivational issues, I remember Border talking about how he had to try and find ways to motivate himself in FC games etc. so he'd pick a battle with people to lift himself.

I think Smith uses these games to genuinely practice, try different things, see what works and what doesn't. He was average in grade Cricket last year which looked a worry but it clearly didn't mean anything.
