730PM before a shield game and Tassie hasn't even released their 12 publicly.

How poor is this - it isn't that hard to flick a 12 to a journo is it?

Tas win toss and WA will bat.

Tasmania XI: Jordan Silk, Charlie Wakim, Matthew Wade (c), Ben McDermott, Jake Doran, Tim Paine (wk), Beau Webster, Tom Andrews, Nathan Ellis, Peter Siddle, Jackson Bird

Western Australia XI: Cameron Bancroft, Sam Whiteman, Shaun Marsh (c), Cameron Green, D'Arcy Short, Ashton Agar, Josh Inglis (wk), Aaron Hardie, Matthew Kelly, Cameron Gannon, Lance Morris

Credit to Eth-Doh - Doolan has made way for Wade.

Don't compare me to Eth. He's way cooler than me.

D'Arcy Short getting his chance.

Bit more life in the surfaces this round judging by the green tinge on this pitch and the fact both Tas and NSW chose to bowl first.

It burns me following Darcy Short, knowing that he would be playing all 3 forms for Tassie if he made the move down in the off-season... would be our #1 spinner also :(
It made too much sense. Like you could play four quicks plus him, Webster and Andrews as allrounders IMO

Bancroft caught by a short fine leg again as he so often was last season.

Wouldn't have great expectations for Short in these conditions.

"Green tinge"!

Just had a look and it's hard to see where the pitch starts and the grass ends.
No wonder Tassie bowled first.

Make a nice change from the roads we've been getting though.
