I been scarred for life seeing Tavare bat as a kid. Nothing else can ever replace that scarring or remove it.

I know what you mean, I had the misfortune to witness a Tavare innings in Adelaide where at one stage he batted an hour and a half for 2 runs. Poms had the nerve to label Bill Lawry "The corpse with pads", but Lawry was Adam Gilchrist in comparison with Tavare.

It is nice to see Khawaja back in the runs. I think his international career is basically over but I still like watching him play.

Pope does not look threatening at all and leaks runs way too easily. Is this good for his development?
You'd think 2nd XI matches with the odd taste of Shield cricket would be better for him but that's not an option this year unfortunately

He hasn't been helped by our quicks being rag-dolled themselves in every single game

Looking completely toothless as an attack

It’s also not easy for the quicks having a spinner consistently going at 5-6 per over

They bowl before him and set the tone. The opposition are usually 0/150 before Pope even comes on.

Pope has his issues but our quicks regularly taking zero wickets even on Day 1 pitches is our biggest problem

The Sayers-Mennie-Worrall combo has been effective for years but perhaps has reached its use by date (for various reasons)

Got a feeling McInerny will fail today. Hope I’m wrong
