Position | Team | Matches | Wins | Losses | Draws | Bat Bonus Points | Bowl Bonus Points | Total Points
\1|New South Wales|5|3|1|1|2.34|3.60|24.94
\2| Queensland |5|2|1|2|2.82|4.60|21.42
\3| Tasmania |5|2|2|1|1.64|5.00|19.64
\4|Western Australia|5|1|2|2|5.36|4.20|17.56
\5|South Australia|5|1|2|2|4.16|3.90|16.06
\6|Victoria|5|0|1|4|4.51|4.60|13.11

With back to back victories including an upset victory over runaway leaders New South Wales in Round 5, the Tigers to have moved to 3rd spot on the ladder. They would be annoyed by the interruption to their momentum by the BBL, but an outright victory here over 2nd placed Queensland would propel them into a Shield final spot

QLD XII
  • 59. James PEIRSON (c)(+)
  • 35. Brendan DOGGETT
  • 58. Luke FELDMAN
  • 44. Charlie HEMPHREY
  • 47. Sam HEAZLETT
  • 9. Marnus LABUSCHAGNE
  • 20. Michael NESER
  • Lachlan PFEFFER (FC debut)
  • 94. Matthew RENSHAW
  • 16. Mark STEKETEE
  • 22. Mitch SWEPSON
  • 24. Jack WILDERMUTH

In: Doggett, Feldman, Neser, Pfeffer
Out: Joe BURNS (groin), Cameron GANNON, Nathan RIMMINGTON

Pfeffer is a left-handed top order player who has been in top form in Queensland grade cricket with 4 tons this season, as well as another century in the Futures League. He is the most likely replacement for Joe Burns who hurt his groin during fielding practice for the Brisbane Heat.

TAS XII
  • 10. George BAILEY (c)
  • 5. Gabe BELL
  • 22. Jackson BIRD
  • 64. Alex DOOLAN
  • 2. Jake DORAN
  • 28. Ben McDERMOTT
  • 12. Riley MEREDITH
  • Simon MILENKO
  • 43. Sam RAINBIRD
  • 6. Tom ROGERS
  • 31. Matthew WADE (+)
  • 20. Beau WEBSTER

In: Meredith, Milenko
Out: Jordan SILK (broken collarbone)

Silk who topscored for the Tigers against NSW with a century, injured himself playing for the Sixers. Interestingly the Tigers have not named a specialist opening batsman as a replacement in the squad, which could mean that Doran may open.

Tim Paine has been rested by CA.

Don't really understand the Milenko selection, a pure batsman would be a better call IMO, he doesn't really provide anything to that attack. Queensland should win with that line up, that middle order (4-7) have played a lot of games together now and should be gelling

Shame Renshaw got out on lunch, he looked very enterprising in that first session. Dukes are swinging a bit it seems from the livestream - Pfeffer on debut looks tidy and seems like he has the patience to dig in. Bulls would be pretty happy with that initial effort.

Renshaw looked very surprised to be given out. I don't know if it was due to a bad decision or whether he was just disappointed to get out though.

Jeepers - not sure whether the clouds have come in but Tassie seem a different attack after lunch - ball swinging around all over the place it looks from the stream. Bulls have lost 4-19 in last 40 minutes.

Foxy Feldman saved the Bulls from a bit of embarrassment - his 47 (as part of a last wicket stand of 72 with Mitch Swepson) got the home side to 253, a lot more than I thought they might end up. Qld twice lost 3-0 in the innings, so 25-odd might be pretty handy. There were 27 sundries too - 12 wides and 7 no balls (and Wade had 4 byes to his name).

It will surprise a few that Wade is bowling - can only assume Gabe Bell and Bird are out for the game.

Tassie have several keepers in the team (Doran, McDermott and Doolan) and Wade bowls pretty good seam up medium pacers. Given they are at at the Gabba and using Duke balls, not the biggest surprise that Wade has done OK.
