You don't say. It's also possible he's just average and the batting against spin by Australian players is woeful.
I'm going to go with being a very good FC bowler without being able to make the step up.

Surely Agar, Swepson, Zampa etc must clean up in the Shield then.

Of those three Swepson may amount to something in 4/5 day cricket. The other two are limited overs bowlers. That list really shows the depth of Australian spin bowlers doesn't it?

Has stoinis moved up the pecking order in terms of allrounders for the test side?

Going along nicely this season averaging 42 with the bat and 25 with the ball.

Needs to go on and make a ton. And played a s**t shot to get out too.

Has had two seasons prior to this one averaging 17 with the bat. I think he'd get found our at test level.

Wonder if there is anything to Stoinis not bowling in the second innings? 1/30 off 16 at 1.88 and 106 runs for the game as an all rounder is quite good considering the lack of such role at an elite level in the test side. Also interesting that he didn't follow up those decent bowling figures with any overs in the second dig.
Mitchell Marsh did himself no favours.

He was injured during the first innings.

MCG pitch back to it's standard self, not enough juice in it to allow a result.

I fear what India are going to do to us in the Boxing Day Test. What are the odds of them making 400 or 500+ first innings? Put your house on it and hope like * we win in Perth or its series over.
