NSW XIII
  • 20. Peter NEVILL (c)(+)
  • 9. Trent COPELAND
  • 5. Harry CONWAY
  • 18. Jack EDWARDS
  • Ryan GIBSON
  • 99. Matthew GILKES
  • 7. Liam HATCHER
  • 3. Daniel HUGHES
  • 36. Nick LARKIN
  • 67. Nathan LYON
  • 72. Stephen O'KEEFE
  • 23. Jason SANGHA
  • 38. Daniel SOLWAY
In: Edwards, Gibson, Gilkes, Sangha
Out: Moises HENRIQUES (Aust A), Kurtis PATTERSON (Aust A)

Henriques and Patterson being unavailable opens up chances for last year's mainstays Edwards and Sangha who have yet to play a Shield game this season. Gibson is also another batting option, having last played a Shield match in November 2017. Edwards made 192 and Sangha 72 for the CA XI against the England Lions. With both Edwards and Sangha able to bowl, this might result in NSW reverting back to a 4 specialist bowler line up.

SA XII

  • 26. Tom COOPER
  • 12. Callum FERGUSON

  • 28. Jake WEATHERALD
  • 44. Nick WINTER
In: Mennie, Pope
Out: Daniel WORRALL (managed)

With a spin friendly wicket at Bankstown, Pope is likely to play in his first Shield match since November 2018.

Isn't Conway in the Australia A squad too?
I guess they're expecting him not to play. Since the AusA match starts on Saturday we will know if he'll be available.

Yeah, and they can probably get some Victorian contracted player to be 12th for days 3 and 4

Resting Worrall after one game

Pope will get carted, he is no good

Thank goodness for that

Feels like every time we take a risk and go with a leg spinner that we lose the toss and have to bowl first

This is stretching right back to the Cullen Bailey years

The problem for Cullen Bailey was he kept being made 12th man, and when he went back to grade cricket, his club were usually batting. I think at one stage he went nearly 2 months without bowling a ball in a match, not good for a developing leggie.
