Can understand the Freeman one, you need a spinner at the Junction, even if he's bowling tripe. But playing Rainbird, who at his best was mediocre, is just plain baffling.

Maybe they've got the cue in the rack and want a look at players with an eye on the contract list next year. Shuffling the bowlers deck without a lot of logic from the outside.

He is 13th in the competition this season for runs scored in just 5 innings. (One of those innings ended almost immediately when he broke his arm.)

Of the 12 batsmen ahead of him this year for runs scored, the lowest amount of innings is Harris with 11, the rest have all had 13-16 innings.

Has scored 10 runs less than 12th placed Hemphry (16 innings). Amazing run of form.

I just like pointing out the incorrect statements of KP being some awesome batsman who had been lighting up the Shield when Maddinson has more shield hundreds in 3 games than Patterson has in 2 seasons! Yet you get ridiculed for suggesting Maddinson should be anywhere near test selection or daring to leave Patterson out of the greatest Aussie test XI of all time

The guy has made 999 FC runs this season at 77 this season (including the A game and Sri Lanka series), with 5 centuries. The only guy with more FC runs this summer is Harris with 1191 at 56. Why do you feel the need to do this? Is it because he comes from NSW? That's some inferiority complex you have that. Sort of like what North supporters have with Essendon

Would love to see Maddison back in the test team, I don’t care that he left NSW for Vic. He’s a real talent when he applies himself.
