It's that far away that it's just a fun hypothetical discussion, so much water to go under the bridge in terms of injuries and form etc. Can see him playing well as a 3rd seamer in competition with Bird, though, just for the sake of throwing a name out there.

i think sayers will be in contention as well and might get the gig over to his outstanding form of recent and also the home town factor.

May be so but he needs to put a season together. Sayers in front due to weight of numbers

On the other hand when have selectors given a s**t about fast bowlers having to put seasons together.

Pattinson and Cummins are probably next in line in their opinion and they've played about 5 shield matches between the two of them over the last 5 years.
