I'm watching the live stream and at this very second it says 51 balls left
Cricinfo lists the minimum overs remaining at 2.4, but that is the minimum, I assume, with scope for more (it's not even 6pm there).

2nd attempt, could be wrong (EDIT: is wrong). I think the table is:
50.31 - VIC
38.46 - NSW
35.90 - WA (28.44 + 7.46 from today: 346 runs (100.0))
30.82 - QLD
30.24 - TAS (29.44 + 0.80 from today: 8 wickets (100.0))
15.41 - SA

Thinking out loud cos I'm not 100% sure:
- the maximum points for a team bowling first is 7 (6.0 for win + 1.0 for 10 wickets within 100 overs)
- TAS v NSW: if TAS bowl first, they cannot make the final
- TAS v NSW: if NSW bowl first, they are guaranteed to earn some bowling points
- WA v QLD: if QLD bowl first, they cannot make the final
36.9, 1 BP for bowling. Plus Tassie can still make the final from bowling first. So can Queensland. In fact that would be better because they'd know exactly how many BP's they need.

I thought points were only awarded for the first innings of the match.

Or is it both 1st innings? So in the same match you can earn bowling points and batting points?

Both of them. In what world would that be fair? It means that the batting side has an exponentially better chance of getting more BP because of the lack of wickets you can take.

yeah that unfairness did strike me as odd. Ok, I think I completely understand now.
