Pretty different players.

Sherman is a gun and is exciting to watch. Could become a brilliant midfielder, but atm seems to play as a forward.

Stanton is very important to Essendon, he has a huge motor and runs all day, he racks up the stats and uses it effectively.

If I was impartial I would say Sherman, but as an Essendon fan, I just feel that Stanton brings so much to our midfield and we could not afford to lose him.

I voted for him...admittedly I haven't watched Sherman too closely, but am pretty impressed with what I've seen of Stanton.

Bit undecided about Sherrmin. He could turn out to be a dud Moloney-type, but will hopefully be better. Stanton is nothing special - lacks leg speed, always getting caught, and just hasn't got the skills to hurt an opposition. Always looks half frightened for some reason.

No, not with those dodgy stats. Why don't you at least provide the same stats for both players? Sherman averaged 22 disposals last year, kicked 17 goals and finished runner up in the best and fairest.

My apologies on the stats ...I went to the essendon website for Stantons stats and the Brisbane(via the AFL website) for Sherman. I don't care how accurate the AFL site is I know the Essendon one is accurate and Stanton has a 2nd B&F and 4th B&F. Sherman is not in the same post code as a player at this stage. Stanton is well on his way to being an elite mid fielder (who does attract a tag on a weekly basis)

No point argueing, most neutral supporters will vote for Sherman and all Brisbane supporters will vote for Sherman. He is a more appealing player to watch but players like Stanton are worth just as much to our side.

Pretty good question.

I, being a Bomber, would have Stanton in an instance, as I see his value week in week out, and would pick him way way before Sherman.

But I could understand why neutral people would go for Sherman though. He is a top player and very exciting, but not as consistent in my opinion.

Both great players, easily in the top 5 of their age brackets.
