Have CA still not worked out what they are doing with the rest of the shield season?

It should still be able to be done reasonably fairly:

Round 1 Feb 9-12
VIC vs QLD
NSW vs WA
TAS vs SA

Round 2 Feb 16-19
VIC vs WA
QLD vs NSW
Bye TAS & SA

Round 3 Mar 2-5
SA vs NSW
TAS vs VIC
Bye WA & QLD

Round 4 Mar 9-12
QLD vs VIC
NSW vs TAS
Bye WA & SA

Round 5 Mar 23-27
VIC vs SA
NSW vs WA
Bye QLD & TAS

Final Apr 1-5

All teams play 8 games. WA can play a double header on the road, Rounds 1 & 2 before going home to isolate and having a month off, before coming back to play Round 5 and a Final if they make it.

The listing I found (below) and posted must be incorrect then. I found it odd that there was no third match in the first two rounds and a single match on March 2. Why byes when not all 10 rounds are to be played. WA border closures?

Feb 9-12: South Australia v Victoria, Adelaide Oval
Feb 9-12: Queensland v New South Wales, Gabba
Feb 18-21: Victoria v Queensland, CitiPower Centre
Feb 18-21: New South Wales v Tasmania, SCG
Mar 2-5: Queensland v South Australia, Gabba
Mar 15-18: New South Wales v Western Australia, Bankstown Oval
Mar 15-18: Victoria v Tasmania, CitiPower Centre
Mar 23-26: Western Australia v Victoria, WACA Ground
Mar 23-26: South Australia v New South Wales, Karen Rolton Oval
Mar 23-26: Tasmania v Queensland, Blundstone Arena

Final
Mar 31-Apr 4: TBC v TBC, TBC*

From the CA Media release on cricket.com.au:

Under the revised fixture released this afternoon, Queensland are scheduled to play the most Shield matches with nine, with clashes against NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania to come once the season resumes on Wednesday, February 9.

Tasmania and SA will finish the season having played eight matches, while NSW and Victoria – who played each other three times prior to BBL|11 – also have four games remaining to take their tally to seven games for the season.

Western Australia's hard border means their cricket team will have an extended break following the Perth Scorchers' record fourth Big Bash title as players and staff spend some time at home with their families.

WA will also finish the season having played seven matches and their next Shield game is not scheduled to start until March 15, when they take on NSW at Bankstown Oval.

They are scheduled to host Victoria at the WACA Ground from March 23-26, although that match will be dependent on Premier Mark McGowan reopening the state's border before then, which was delayed indefinitely last month.

Owing to the uneven fixture, CA confirmed final table positions for the Sheffield Shield will now be decided by the average number of points each team accrues from their scheduled matches, similar to last year's ICC World Test Championship.

that's fine, we'll accept them forfeiting. :think::p

WA has been forfeiting Shield performances for ages.

Between them Wood, Moody and Langer destroyed that State's ability to be a serious player in the Shield.

Has anyone noted that this schedule does not correspond with the CA website version which I posted on page #11. I expect the CA version is correct as WA will not be playing their first match until after March due to border restrictions. But why are the Vics and Blues only playing seven matches while other states play as many as 9. I recall last season VIC were dragging the chain re matches over Covid yet CA managed to make up the leeway.. Thanks Mr McGowan for stuffing up this year's shield.
That was glengowan attempting to guess what the schedule would be before it was actually announced. You can tell this through looking at the date of the post and the context of the messages around it.
