We've got our weekly pre game 'banging on' thread up and running on the Noth board, and an invitation is extended to the Swans and Swanettes to join us and 'bang on' about this week's game.

Good luck and an important clash for 2 clubs with eyes on a top 4 spot in 2008.

R.I.P mate! I remember having long 'posts' with Lidge about the impact South leaving South had on me, and what the club meant to me, as he was interested in the subject, genuinely interested! I'll even admit, some of his posts about South, left a tear or two in my eye! Lidge was a very decent bloke and a true 'Shinboner' and will be sadly missed, one of the genuine good blokes on B.F! Bez!

If you sydney supporters/members are attending this weeks game, can you please pay your respects to Lidge who passed away today by wearing black armbands. It's the best way to send our respects to the great man's family.

Definetly, and have encouraged that notion on the main board.

Evening, gents. Sorry for the intrusion, but as the last two posts have sadly mentioned, a few days ago we lost a great bloke, a true Shinboner, and BF legend and Moderator.....Lidge.

Lidge was a good friend of mine. He was a champion guy who touched everyone that came into contact with him. Close to 500-odd posters have visited the North board in the last few days to pay their respects, a testament to how well regarded he was by all.

His sudden passing, at such a young age (he'd just turned 40), is a shock to everyone. Tragically, he leaves behind a wife and 4 young kids.

Unbeknown to many opposition supporters, as a founding member of Roosistence (along with myself and a few other good BF folk), Lidge was instrumental in the push to keep our beloved club here in its rightful home in Melbourne last year. He worked tirelessly, devoting his own time and money for no other reason than a love of his club. Even though he was a big man in size, in this instance, he was the quintessential little guy throwing his finger up to corporate football.

And, hey, we won !!

Simply put, Shane (Lidge) embodied everything that is great about the game we love.

On Sunday, we kindly ask that all Swans fans going to the game honour Lidge's memory by wearing a black arm band to the game.

It is only a small gesture - (how hard is it to wrap a bit of black tape around your arm?) - but one that would mean a lot to North fans, and would be a great way to pay our respect to a true football patriot.

Thanks for your time.

After all this and such a sad week for BF, this moderator The Other Dean has shown his true colours on the North Board. You are a ____ing joke and a disgrace.

I've just been there reading some of the comments. Some of the Roos fans are a dead set disgrace.

They obviously still have anger issues about moving to the Gold Coast.

I find it hilarious that other club supporters say that its always us that cause these games. My question is what happens in games when they are open and fast flowing?????

We win and look sensational in the process. All clubs will try and negate opposition teams if they feel it's there best way of winning, not just us.

But after all, the Swans did cause the Black Plague of the 1800's.

Yet one you managed to spit back in the faces of the Sydney fans who did do it.
Exactly. I'm still glad I did it as a sign of respect for Lidge and his family but The Other Dean is a low life piece of shit.

Ease up a bit hey guys? Maybe it was over the top but TOD is a mate of Lidge's. How calm and even handed would you be if you'd lost a mate and a dead set hero for a cause you believe passionately in? I for one would not be so.

cheers
