Secrets about the 1975 unsolved murder of Shirley Finn may be exposed finally after the death of a former detective who was implicated in her gangland-style killing, her daughter hopes.

The brothel madam was found slumped in her car at the Royal Perth Golf Club in South Perth.

Bernie Johnson, who led the vice squad at the time, was among several men rumoured to have been linked to her murder.

A public inquest into Ms Finn’s death started last year and witnesses at the hearings either put Mr Johnson close to the scene of her murder or claimed he was involved.

However, Mr Johnson, who had denied involvement, did not give evidence because he had dementia.

Did it say cops actually investigated satanic links? Way to deflect the real story that's coming out of the Finn Inquest where one top cop (recently deceased) sourced the gun for another top cop (bikie and gold theft links who was blown up) to execute her with the knowledge of a top pollie (among other big noters around town) who became Premier.

With all the amazing stories that the Inquest has heard so far, don't think there's been any supporting this theory for the murder of Shirley Finn.

The firearm used was standard fair in the car boot of officers at this level in the police force at the time.
No one had to source anything.

Im surprised she thought releasing her black book on crooked officers would get her some sort of ATO amnesty, not mention bring down a government.

What did she think would happen? Why didnt borrow money and pay the tax bill?
It was probably someone elses tax bill.

She must have been dumb as a box full of hammers or she faked her murder on the winter solstice in a $2500 dress at thr Royal Perth Golf club, $2500 which at the time would have bought half the cars on the market today brand new as many cars were about $2500 brand new

Being assasinated on the winter solstice is just coincidence at Royal Perth Golf club.

The court also heard from convicted horse race fixer Bob Meyers, who claimed his friend Colin Pace, then head of the fraud squad, had told him Mr Johnson shot Ms Finn with a gun stolen from the police armoury.
 
Obviously police protection has been an option to a few over the years.

WA has had some cracking stories involving police.

What does it say - the coven meets in a Perth suburb with upwards of thirteen traditional members - with four senior members - and five or so candidates in training?

Maybe she was told she would be given money to pay the tax bill, that night since she had a paper trail indicating it wasn't her money or property.
