Why should I stand in line for a couple of items when I can stroll straight to the self serve checkout and be put the door in 30 seconds.

Don't know where you shop, but around the Maroondah area, there is usually as many people waiting for them, as the serviced checkouts, plus you have to wait longer, if there is someone who doesn't know how to use them.

I wish I still lived in Ringwood East, the Supa Iga there is the best. They still bag your shopping & will carry it out to your car if requested, have free home delivery & you can ring them with your order & they still don't charge you any extra. Probably why the owners have been in business for over 30 years.

Damn Coles & Woolies, they don't give a stuff about the customers.

Mantis I used to feel like you do but it's true, somebody has to build and maintain the self-serve machines, and there's always an attendant there. I don't know about the shops near you but when I go to Coles/Woolies rarely is every register open anyway. Can't see too many jobs being lost there.

Similar to ones at the start of a page. People who go to a gig only to record the whole damn thing on their phone. I'm a shortish guy so I never expect a perfect view, but I hate having to stare at a tiny screen that's blocking my view. Idiots.

Like the moron who lives in my block of units, he refuses to leash his dog, who is a nasty little shit & runs up a barks & growls at people & dogs. When I got my new rescue dog, I asked him if he could either leash his dog, or not let her out when I am walking my dog, he told me to get stuffed, he'll do what he pleases. The Ranger said that if my dog hurts his dog, because his got in my dogs face off lead, he is at fault.

I don't want to see his dog hurt because she has a moron for an owner, I am so frustrated, because my girl is being kept a prisoner, because of this arseh*le.

I click on the video and there are 2 or 3 young teenage boys with this tiny puppy in a ice cream container. They are tipping what I beleive to be water over the tiny puppy, and having a right old laugh about it. Moments later they light the poor thing on fire. The puppy tips the container over and they are throwing more turps on it and laughing their heads off.

Can't describe how angry this made me. I felt sick in the stomach.

Will admit that I can be a somewhat unemotional person when it comes to being outraged over animal cruelty, discrimination, and so forth. This, however, is absolutely ****ing disgusting. Saddening to know that filth like this will grow up to become adults and subsequently even bigger pond scum.

Fairly certain it wasn't in Australia, children in the video seemed to be speaking Spanish or Portugese to me although I could be wrong. lol, Used to have a student from Korea as a neighbour for a while that sometimes would pop around. One day when we had a few people over he goes "I've tried dog a couple of times", had to quickly pull him aside and tell him it's probably a pretty bad idea to tell people that with their revered status as pets in this country.

Let's not pretend that these kids will grow up and do anything worthwhile, or that people being cruel to animals is a new occurance.

But they are scum. I can't think of any other animals that torture other animals - humans are the only species that do it as far as I am aware. Cats play with their prey, but they will eat it - humans will torture and kill something for 'fun'....and it is disgusting that the so called most developed species is the species that is the least humane.

Those kids will end up being serial killers most likely, a lot of serial killers used to do things to animals that normal people wouldn't even be able to dream of.

Agreed. The treatment some industrial companies in first world countries give to farm animals is horrific - as far as I'm aware, debeaking is legal in the UK, USA and Australia. Yes it is done for a reason (to stop hens pecking at each other causing harm/death) but it's usually only a major problem when they are caged hens, and so not only are the hens trying to establish pecking order (no pun intended) they are panicing as well.
And then the farmers who don't provide shade for their cows/pigs etc, or leave pigs on concrete floors etc. Despicable.
