Just on Kepler Bradley, did any of you guys realise that he has been moved forward from the backline (where he was terrible, shocking ect) and won the VFL Bombers B+F. He played very well up forward and had quite a few ripper games where he got 25 disposals, 15 marks 3-4 goals from CHF.
He has been playign great football forward and i think that quite a few of you have been judging him by his past performances in the backline where he was horrible and not as a forward, all he needs to get right is his kicking (when passing, not on goal) and motor and he will be a very very good player.

No, I doubt any of us Swans supoprters did see that, we are only judging him on his shocking decision making at senior level. Seniors being where the Swans would want him to play if we traded for him. I am more than happy to leave him having "ripper games" in the 2's at Essendon.

With the hawks having a heap of key forwards we could have a crack at Beau Dowler.

Good to be back. I missed classic quotes like this:thumbsu:

What about J Moore to the Dogs...what you would be of interest...?

No offence but maybe Eagleton as an outside'ish' finishing type mid with some pace? Gets a regular game as opposed to Moore...but is of course a lot older... Maybe even Sam Power?

You probably aren't going to get a lot for a bloke with a few games in a few yrs...

rather power, no desire to have eagleton thanks

THe thing is, he's been playing in the 2's and had ripper form there, yet everytime he got a chance at senior level Sheeds shoved him in the backline and not in t he forward line where he had been playing his best football (bad coaching). The only time Sheeds played him forward in the seniors this year was in the last game where he had 12 disposals and 1 goal from CHF playing off about 50-60% gametime which IMO isn't too bad.

A deal that got us Cameron Wood for pick 11 (and maybe a shuffling of draft picks down the order if either club felt it necessary to even up the deal) would make me happy.

Pick 28 for Darcy Daniher and Pick 60/76 for Craig Bird would be good.

Anybody heard if Jolly has re-signed?

I'd also very happily give Kepler Bradley a second chance at the right price. He was a Swans fan growing up, and he's got size and ability - he just hasn't quite put it all together at the Bombers.

For once you can trade with Essendon - the old 'never shake hands with Sheedy' rule is out of currency! :)

I can't believe people would suggest trading buchanon. He has arguably been one of our better running midfielders over the last couple of seasons. He breaks tackles, and can use the ball really well.

He's also very much underrated by other clubs so I doubt we will get a fair trade.

Players that may be up for trading or delisting
Fosdike
Matthews
Mcveigh
Bevan
Jolly
Crouch
ROK?
Dempster
Schneider

Players that other clubs would want
ROK
Schnedier
Jolly
Fosdike
Crouch
Dempster

ROK and Schneider will not be up for trading. They'll be one of the last people to get traded at the club.

With Roosy noting yesterday about the changes and senior trading, I will only go as far as trading McVeigh.

I'd rather not get Kepler Bradley to the club. His decision making is nothing less than ATROCIOUS!!!! For the sake of his own career he'd better have a massive pre-season. The guy looks half-dead come the second half of a match.

I really think Paul Roos will be reticent to trade away any of the core group of players that are under 25. They obviously feel the current list can have one more crack at Premiership glory with those senior players in it. Also, I think there's very little chance of them putting up Rhino, Schneids or Dempster as bait.

Now that Kenny McGregor is about to sign a new contract with the Crows, the potential Fosdike deal looks lost.

i don't agree on schneider, i think he would be a very possible trade as he's one of the few with a touch of class that might attract a decent offer from other clubs....if he doesn't want to be traded, well and good, but i wouldn't have him as any kind of untouchable....i would, however, have ROK among those untouchables, he's genuine class

Roos says that they will be targetting Miller, Tenace and Sherman. All can play. Miller is inconsistent, Tenace is an unreliable kick and Sherman had a poor season but may have been played out of position. They might take a pick 2 or 3 even better. We only have untried youngsters to trade.

Personally I think getting either Tenace or Sherman would be good for our club just as long as the right trade is made ie not for our first pick as they have in the past, second rounder has to be used and I would be more in favour of Sherman. Please get the best key position player avalible with the first pick or maybe even picks 11 and 28 for Wood and Sherman?

Fosdike? He is probably one of our most under rated players. Uses the ball well, can find the footy.

Dempster? Will feature more next season. One of the players that will have to give Roos a headache at the selection table. When he plays, he has to perform in 2008.

Schneider? Rather like him as a half back flanker going forward. Pace, determination and knows where the goals are.

Jolly? Only if he wants out.

ROK? Are you kidding me? AA in 2006, great grab and a huge motor. In our top 5 of best players at the Bloods.

Roos already stated he won't do much trading next week, but if it was up to me, I'd say only Crouch, Bevan, Mathews and McVeigh should be used as trade bait. Depending on who wants to leave their respective clubs. But to get something half decent i'd say we;d have to throw in draft picks to weigh up any sort of deal.

It's evident Roos rates Mathews for his leadership, Bevan for his defensive pressure and McVeigh for god knows what. Highly unlikely they'll be traded.

Where?

Have you got a link?

in the australian today....the lead afl item was roos on players the swans are talking to, and it's miller, tenace and sherman at the moment
i think all three would be triffic, but certainly miller as a key defender or forward and sherman as a running midfielder, i think we could really use them and they'd bring plenty to the club....not sure about tenace, i know he's quick but is he another david spriggs?

I'm getting conflicting reports.

A fornight ago, Roosy said that we'll stick with the players that have brought us the premiership.

However last night Channel ten reported that Roosy was looking to make some drastic changes to the swans list for next season.

It's amazing what a difference completing the end of season review with the football department and sitting down with the board makes.

...Or maybe it was just watching how magnificent Geelong where last Saturday and thinking that perhaps we need to play like that to be competitive in '08

i'd like to think roos has had time to reflect on the season, on the way we played most games and the problems we had, and after discussing with team management realised we need to change some things
not sure what "drastic" might mean in this context, but if we start next season with, say, the 22 that played c'wood in the losing final, we're in strife and can start preparing for "bottoming out"
our physically intense style has caught up with some of the older players, some of whom must look at retiring (eg crouch, mathews); others need to change the way they play, or change positions (eg leo barry, jude bolton, schneider)

I agree on that, but I just don't think we'll trade Schneider. He is a similar player to Buchanan, but at the same time, Buchanan is one of our most creative midfielders and Schneider is built like him, but he is more of a forward. He is a small forward who can goal from crumbs and where Swans are usually good at...

new rumor about Jolly to collingwood for a good pic and Ryan Cook. It has some legs to it,as sydney need a young hard runner and was going to take cook in the 2005 draft but got piped,Nick Malceski is Cooks step brother and rings him for advise.

don't get me wrong, i love schneids....and amon too, they were wonderful in the finals run of 05, specially amon....but both will attract interest, no doubt about it, and of the two i'd probly be less unhappy (if that makes sense) to lose schneids.....although i can see a coach like leigh matthews looking at a player like buchanan fitting in at brisbane, in a trade for, say, sherman (or adcock)
