Nope, no way. Buchanan is worth a lot more than just tenace and Playfair (for us, anyway). Even if you send us your first pick with it we wouldn't want to deal, so no. No Prismall, no deal.

Not sure about that. Everitt is a year older and can easily get niggling injuries that gets him out for a few weeks. Our ruck stocks are Doyle (if he's not delisted and stays fit somehow), Shaw (if he's not delisted and would have to be promoted) and Currie who we talked about and would like to be brought slowly.

I don't want to pinch LRT into the ruck (heard that's how he got himself injured) again. Ditto White who I don't want to see anywhere near the ruck (should be in a KP in either end of the ground, not at the centre circle).

The problem with Wood though is we are stuck with another ruckman. Without Jolly we could have Spida as our 1st ruckman and alternate between Shaw and Currie for the 2nd Ruck position. I will be so annoyed if Paul Poos trades for another Ruckman.

with the good reports on currie, it's possibly worth thinking of risking going with spida and currie (and shaw), and trading jolly but ONLY if we get a real good deal on jolly
but would a straight swap, jolly for say travis johnstone or brad miller, be worth it?

We have always had trouble with Collingwood but we did challenge Geelong earlier in the year and we got reasonably close to beating them.

I can't believe you rate Miller at all..He is a Grade A Hack. At least Johnstone had a blistering year in 2004. Miller has done nothing but drop easy marks and sniping players.

I hope we keep jolly. Jolly, Everitt, Currie and a couple of developing rucks on the rookie list, will see us well stocked for ruckman. I would have thought Wood would want to head home to SA anyway. We should concentrate on getting a key backman, some midfield pace and another key forward to back up H Grundy in the near future after Hally and Magic retire. I cant say I would want Miller or Johnstone on our list, although at least Miller is a kpp.

i don't agree on bradley, i'd rather brad miller as a KPP

but i certainly agree on leo, my thoughts on him have been made many times elsewhere, and as i said earlier tonight, if we go into the new season with the same 22 that played the pies in the elimination final, we're headed for bottom eight, and not close to the finals

i seriously think c'wood are the team to beat over the next 2-3 seasons, i think they'll pass geelong.....

but on ruckmen, it seems there is a trend now that suggests younger ruckmen CAN match it and compete at senior level earlier than in the past, as long as they're nursed a bit....if we can get currie and shaw up and helping spida, or maybe if doyle survives and is fit to actually play a season, we can maybe afford to let jolly go
having said that, i understand jolly will probly stay, and that's also a good thing, you'd think at 26 he's got at least 5 seasons left at the top level

oh, yes, and jesse white should be kept right away from the ruck, as we should have done with LRT

Yes Goodes did start his career in the Ruck and he is a good backup plan if we need him to go in that position again for awhile.

IMO the only one mentioned worth considering is Tenace and I think all that will take is a 2nd or even 3rd rounder or a young untried but promising player.

As for trading McVeigh Fosdike Buchanan....sheesh where does the midfield come from. They have been loyal and Roos will be loyal to them and ........probably Lastmond are the only club stoopid enough to take McVeigh!

And as for loyalty, well if we want to win another priemiership we have to address the issues in our midflied and backline and that can only come from a change in personnel. If we don't make the right decisions, then we can kiss goodbye to 2008

I am suggesting that I don't think McVeigh would attract a lot of interest.

Secondly it is remarkable that such a bland group of midfielders cohesively gel in the odd, almost unique, gameplan and compete and are respected by all clubs for what they do!

I think the next wave of youngsters still a few years away with perhaps a quality trade injection will be the only way the midfield and gameplan will be eventually reshaped. No good taking part components out

If Hall, Tadgh, and Goodesy (1st half) had not been injured or down on form and a few close results went our way.... then Swans would have been much more worthy top 4 than many that stumbled in there !

I reckon they synergy of the current group despite their shortcomings if luck is on their side still can give it a good crack in 08, the worry is whether Leo and Bolts and LRT can handle the powerful forwardline sides
