Turned out to be a prescient trade after Wilson got injured again.

Collingwood were successful in not trading despite criticism at the time. We kept our youth and they got us up the ladder.

freo getting mcpharlin, hawks didnt have much choice though

The Hawks effectively got Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell and Daniel Elstone for Croad and McPharlin.

So pretty even at the moment after Hodge's brilliant season and Sam Mitchell winning the Liston Tropy and impressing for the Hawks when he was in the side and for Freo, Croad and McPharlin both very good this season.

Yet to see Elstone as yet.

Will be interesting to see how this trade pans out to advantage in the end.

Cheers.

Brad Miller ain't been too shabby for the Pacers too. ;)

In footy, I'll go for Corey McKernan. After a shaky start where the media pulled out the knives, he really played well and I wouldn't mind him in a Hawks guernsey this coming season.

I think you also need to look at what a club has given up in order to get that player in the first place, when judging the degree of success of a trade.

When up and running Stafford has been very good for richmond and to justify that he will hopefully be signed up for another season or 2. Oh and we dont need to mention daffy we know how how good he was for Sydney.

Don't forget Nick Daffy, just to match the pick up of Steven Tingay the year before and Scott Russell prior to that

These three can't be compared to Willo and Hall. Both those have been very good recruits for Sydney but they also came at a hefty price - a first and third round pick for Willo and a first round pick, Greg Stafford (indirectly) and the cost of taking Daffy off Richmond's hands.

Tingay and Russell weren't exactly successes but both "cost" only a pre-season draft pick.

The best value recruit for Sydney in recent years has been Schauble.
