Short backline ?????

Ellis, Hunter, Croft, Cox, Penny. All over 190 cm, or 6 ft 4 in in the old language. That old line about a short backline will be put to rest fairly soon.

Then you can add Grant, who is the league's best CHB (I like him at CHF), when he rotates through there. That is one good lineup in my opinion.

I was at the ground on Friday night and could not believe the size of Penny. The boy has put on some muscle, and was taller and at least as big in the body as Nietz.

Our future is in good hands.

Penny was great on Neitz and is just starting to get a bit of confidence playing in defence. I like the way he really sticks to his man. There was no way Neitz was going to get an easy kick.

Yes it was good to see a backline equipped to handle the opposition talls and it was particularly good to see Penny start on the ground rather than the bench.
