We are entering murky waters when shots are fired at the Chief Stewards home. Bailey has been aggressive in changing the culture of the industry which combined with strong reporting by one or two sections of the media can lead to a messy cocktail.

The Hearld Sun is nothing if not predictable. Five days after the shooting at Terry Baileys house, they run a front page story detailing the well known rap sheet of Danny Nikolic. I am no fan of DN, I believe he should remain expelled from the industry, but this is a shameless hatchet job. For obvious legal reasons they have omitted to mention the shooting incident in the piece but only the dimmest of readers can miss the inference. The court of public opinion will undoubtedly turn towards Nikolic being involved in the incident now regardless of the actual details of the police investigation. I would say News Ltd should be ashamed of themselves but they clearly gave up on that years ago.
