Yes but there is a definate redneck rascist vibe coming out of the Australian 'journalists' , also like Bob Brown says, they have stepped out of the 4th estate into the 'we are the guardians of democracy' we do what we want In reality they don't represent the people, rather corporate interests of environmental vandals such as the coal lobby, mining lobby, sugar in cereal lobby ect .Why do people pay for this s**t rag? No wonder it has a circulation of less than 100, 000 per day.It's a sad state of affairs that they invite Ian Plimer, a science denying nutjob to write for their paper.The strange thing is alot of them call themselves Catholic, yet Jesus would surely go ape s**t at them like Jesus did at the market in that old book.

Climate changes all the time, who would deny that? Regardless the assertion he makes is absurd. An Australian carbon tax makes zero sense as it will have zero effect on global temperatures. Thats not climate change denial, thats a fact.

Wont have zero effect at all you fool, it's about 3 to 4% of global emmissions.That attitude of 'what's the point it won't make difference' is misleading and incorrect.It's the preferred mantra of the coal lobby, wake up you foolish man!
The acts of no single individual will have any significant effect on man made climate change. Therefore no one should ever do anything about it.
This is the line the flat earthers have been running since they were proven to be humiliatingly wrong about the science.
They were also proven to have been conned about the dangers of tobacco, asbestos etc. etc. You'd think one day these poor fools would wake up to themselves.

It's mostly advocacy masking as news, with a little tabloid style gossip mongering thrown in. This style of "journalism", so the use of scandal, propaganda and opinion, mixed with hard news is not new, or even a Murdochian invention. It was popularised in the modern age as a business model by the British tabloids and Murdoch just perfected the formula and took it to the world. TBH, his style of news telling is older than investigative journalism, or the straight facts of a hard news/reporting. Most early pamphlets and gazettes were explicitly propaganda, satire or salacious rumour mongering. This is just the slow regression of an industry at an international level, partly brought on by the challenges caused by digitisation, partly because one self interested old lizard figured he could use a global media empire as a political bludgeon to beat favourable outcomes out of governments and reactionary citizens.

Imposing a carbon tax in Oz IS NOT doing anything about it. There are those with the intelligence to realise this and those who are not. You clearly are in the latter camp
Surely a financial signal is a disincentive
Australia accounts for circa 2% of global emissions. Cutting that by 30% still wont have a statistically meaningful affect on global temperatures.
As far as absurd strawmen go that is right up there. Well done.
