What are Brittain's credentials?..

RE:

... im Sorry, im going to have to disagree, i believe Brittain should remain coach of the Carlton Football Club, he hasn't been helped by major injuries to the playing list, Allan, Hulme, Koutoufides, Whitnall, Ratten, etc as well as the retirements of major players SOS & Rice, though there must be DRAMATIC change to the playing list, especially players such as Cranage, Mantons, Hotton, Mathews and so on

Pagan is waiting on a second offer from the Roos so hasn't signed anywhere yet apparently.

It is not Britts fault we have gone so bad. It is not his fault that we have so many key injuries. It is not even his fault is a player won't try. It is most certainly his fault if he can't enforce his will on a player and discipline them for stupid acts. It is his fault if the players have no motivation. It is his fault if when game plans are not working, he takes half a game to change it. It is very easy to coach a great side (Parko admitted the 95 team virtually coached itself) but the measure of a very good coach is how well they think on their feet in adversity. I was a Britts advocate up until a few weeks ago but have been stunned by some of the selection decisions and by some of the matchups and game tactics of late.

Its unfortunate but...

Love or hate Britts, the problem is the Club totally needs a fresh start in 2003.

My chant these days is:

New Coach, New President, New Recruiting Officer (read selection committee possibly??)

Obvoiusly there's a lot of players to go as well but that's sortof another issue.

I actually have no problem with Britts as such. Its just that for the sake of the Club, he's gotta go.

There aren't many coaches on the market thou. Would we settle for a Rocket Eade in place of Brittain? Are we any chance of luring Pagan? (in my eyes the best coach out there)

No doubt that Pagan is the best coach out there but unfortunately I don't think we'll get him :(

Earlier on I was saying I would rather Britain stay than us get Eade but since we are going to be wooden spooners, I'd say Eade would probably give us a better chance next year. Especially since he got the Swans to a grand final a few years ago.

I'm amazed that he didn't go halfway through the season. He's got to go his record speaks for itself.

Letting Worsfold go was a mistake.

Brittain should have just as all a favour and retired weeks ago. I just hope the board comes to their senses and gets rid of him.

Yep letting Worsfold go was a terrible mistake.

I feel sorry for the man. He did well last season, but a bad turn of events this year is surely going to cost him his job. There were some really bad coaching errors this year too, and if you add that up with injury to a lot of your key players, you have a formula for failure. It's too bad, it might have been an OK coach if he only had the cattle... did you know that all our experienced senior players have been injuried this year except for two (Beaumont and Lappin)?

I wouldn't mind Britts in a assistnat coaching role next year, but that will never happen. Pagan is the key. Eade is alright, but surely we don't want another flooding coach? Either that or there is... *shudder*, Dermie!
