If the umpires are not supposed to pay "soft" free kicks, then how many free kicks would knee dropper Selwood get?

Does a bloke have to be knocked out to receive a too high free kick? No.

Mooney's tackle was a free kick and should be paid no matter what is at stake.

I don't think it should have been paid, however it was nothing that should have gained the reaction it has. Line ball decision that went the Saints way. If it wasn't paid I can see why and if it was I can understand that as well.
