Should the number “0” exist as a number for players to wear?

Why? We don't have a need as you only have what 48 players max or so on a list.

Why not. Double zero if they want. If its readily identifibale, takes up no more the jumper, why not.
There's no need to do it, no need to ban it. If only this was the major issue with the league, and broader game, rather than constant rule changes, reinterpretations every week, favourtism, and the death of clubs and leagues around the nation.

It's time you sought professional help.
Not really, it's a reasonable question.

When I worked in footy admin, we did a review of the comp's by-laws. Our new Ops Manager, who had come in from a very busy competition in a "footy state", had a clause along the following lines inserted:

"Clubs' guernsey numbers shall be whole numbers from 1 to 99 inclusive".

He did this because he had seen guernseys with 0s, numbers with decimal points and numbers 100 and above in his role at his previous competition.

Old news. Goalies from Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers have been doing it in their derbies for a few years. Part of a campaign to reduce the road traffic death toll.

I reckon we should also incorporate sayings from Bingo when players take possession. "Steele Sidebottom number 22. 2 little ducks 22. Number 4 knock at the door. Imagine Dwayne with this entirely new zinger arsenal

Players should wear their player number, you know, they are the 10,451st bloke to pull on the boots for Melbourne so 10451.

If they changd clubs, new number. If they go back to their old club, old number again.

Father/sons get their dads number, with a decimal. First gets 1, second gets .2 etc.

If theres more than 9 sons from the same father then the dad gets a retrospective bedroom brownlow and the number ticks over to .11, .12 etc.

The records should be adjusted to reflect this. Old photos should be shooped, and the originals destroyed.

Did he perchance come from SA? From the University of Adelaide? Where .05 was a popular choice in the lower grades?

No, he came from one of the big comps in Victoria. I'm not surprised it also happened elsewhere though. :)
