Should there be shorter quarters in 2021?

ooh geez. Probably going to see some really old teams hit the cliff pretty quickly after 2020 hid the aging behind 16min quarters. Plus interchanges have also dropped again. Brisbane going back to being my favourite for 2021 cup now.

The cut in rotations actually conspires against younger players. Are coaches going to take a risk on a kid with ability who'll need to be nursed through the game or play safe with the 27yo journeyman with a tank?

An extra 25% game time from this year and a 9% pay cut. We'll hear about it.

Good for the mature bodied teams, not good for young teams. Key backs and forwards who can spend all game on the ground will help cover those younger players.

I don't expect clubs to field many dedicated small forwards, they'll all need to be training for midfield time and cover 12 to 15km a game to fill the space the midfielders and half backs can't get to while they jog to the next contest.

Let's consider something, if you're not able to take a break are you going to want to slow the game down or speed it up? Correct. Slow it down and control the ball. That's going to make for great viewing.
