I think the problem lies in the decision to value old posts over up-time.grimlock said:grayham, I think you're missing the point.
Firstly, it is a free site run by a bunch of very dedicated fans in their own spare time. It has also been pointed out a few times that the problem lies with the host of the site rather than a lack of action on Des's behalf.

Whats worse - no fan site, or a fan site thats unusable ?
Secondly, The fact that there is a independent and well-run fan site reflects very well on the Swans and their following. I doubt outside fans would really care whether RWO is up or down. In fact, without naming names, a few other clubs don't have fan sites and would be envious of the quality and following RWO has generated over the past few years.
Finally, the fact that there has been such a commotion raised by its absence shows how valued it is by its members. If you want to leave, that's fine, but I doubt you'll find many other following your lead.

grayham said:You are trying to make this a personal issue. I'm weighing up the benefits of Bigfooty-swans area (here) vs RWO. Site v Site, not person v person.

I don't see this has to become a bigfooty v RWO issue. Posting on either site doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. Plenty of us do it, although I can understand why a few RWO regulars don't like posting here.

Could you imagine the pies or blues fan sites being down this long?
The pies have always had 3 or 4 sites at any one time.CharlieG said:The main Pies site closed down.
For how long ?Either put your money where your mouth is and build your own (better) site, or do as the rest of us are doing and wait patiently until RWO is back up.
Attacking me in that manner makes you look petulant I fear.Des has better things to do, no doubt, than respond to your beck and call. You are coming across as incredibly petulant and spoilt.

At this stage, either, or it doesn't make a difference. Both of those options have an end result of not being able to use a fan site, so what the heck?grayham said:Whats worse - no fan site, or a fan site thats unusable ?
It does take guts to post on the AFL board though, with all the trolls, and people ready to attack you if you dare say a negative word about THEIR club
I think that is what he said above!!!BonBon said:I have 2 questions for Des:
1. Can we go from the August 2004 data, but if more recent back up arrives, we use that (if possible)?
It'd be nice, but .......BonBon said:2. 100x100 avatars?
