There has been a recent debate over whether people should see how much time is left in games broadcast on radio and TV - especially regarding close games. The Radio didn't used to tell how much time is left - just how much time has gone in each quarter. The games on TV displays how much time is left. Ian Collins (I think, I may be wrong) has even considered putting a clock at the ground to indicate how much time is left.

Many people reckon that if we know how much time is left then it takes out some of the excitement out of the game especially close games

Other, and Im one of them, reckon that we should know exactly how much time is left.

Some broadcasts on radio have half fixed the problem by saying to listeners to turn their volume down if they dont want to know how much time is left.

What do you guys think?

I dont mind if they tell the people how much time their is left on the radio as they already do on TV.
However, at the ground, i think it is better and keeps the tension up, if the supporters and players don't know how much time there is left.

Sometimes knowing how much time is left actually intensifies the excitement. Hoping and praying and yelling and screaming that your team can just hold on for that last little bit of time!

Don't disagree either way but I'll give you a situation in which it can very useful.

Twenty seconds left- grand final- no time clock.
Melbourne down by 3 points.
Throw-in -centre wing.
Yze clears to Powell who marks 40 metres out on a slight angle.
3 seconds left. Spots Farmer lurking alone 20 metres directly in front of goal.
Since its only the 28 minute mark, he thinks there is plenty of time. Decides to kick it to him.
Siren.
Farmer doesn't have enough time to readjust and ends up marking the ball/ letting the ball trickle past him, by which time Fletcher grabs it.

GAME OVER. ESSENDON WINS

I know that it can be argued that the players will not always be watching the clock or that this is not a realistic situation, but a momentary glance would make Powell go back and take the set shot.
