With Geelong expected to boot about 10 or so players out the door in order to improve it's playing list, are there any Cats that the Blues should target?

James Kelly - Looks out of favour at Catland and I believe he would be a great addition to our midfield. He's got a great mix of speed, poise and neat and precise skills.

Matthew McCarthy - Maybe but don't think so.

Kent Kingsley - Defiently not.

Shannon Byrnes - Would add alot of speed to our side if we could snag him, which seems unlikely as the Cats seem to have a future for him.

Kane Tenace - Same as Byrnes.

Charlie Gardiner - Don't think so.

Matthew Scarlett - Has recently said that he would leave Catland if Bomber Thompson was replaced as coach by Daryn Cresswell. Would really help out our defence.

Andrew Mackie - Could be a handy player. Clever forward.

Paul Koulouriotis - Quick and skillful on-baller who could prove a handy addition to our developing midfield.

If I could choose any of these players to wear the navy blue next year I would choose: James Kelly.

Thoughts??

any one of Kelly, Byrnes, Tenace, Koulouriotis would be nice ... only if able to be accomplished without touching our first 3 picks though

What about steve Johnson? Hes got freaky skills and maybe pagan can get his head and his heart back in the game.

Ive always liked Kelly but he reeks of wasted talent. Wouldnt be unhappy to have him at carlton though.

Thought of Steve Johnson but thought that the Cats would hang on to him since they are still trying to work out their forwardline.

My frontrunners would be: Kelly and Scarlett.

Scarlett won't leave the Cats.

Kelly is an interesting one, seems to have fallen down the pecking order a big at Geelong and I reckon Carlton need to speak to him and see if hes willing to go in the PSD. Would help our midfield immensely and I would be quite happy to see him at the Blues next year.

Is he out of contract at years end?

Hmm I don't think Nick Davis gets along with Paul Roos but I doubt that Nick D will leave the swans.
I'm pretty sure a lot of Carlton players don't like Pagan but they won't leave because of him (although I have heard that was an big factor in Camporeale leaving)

Kelly was given a new contract at the end of last year. Forget Scarlett, Cresswell won't come to Geelong.

How could u bypass Scarlett, is he not everything we need? One of the best full backs in the game, and has also proven he can go forward a bit. We have enough midfielders now with gibbs so Scarlett anyday.

Would love Scarlett - IMO best FB since the great man in SOS - but I agree is pipe dream. Wouldn't it be great though...?

Although - it should be a done deal - we don't yet have Gibbs.

Didn't Scarlett not sign a new 3 year deal this year?

The Cats will not off-load him no matter how much he whinges.

During trade week, the Cats would ask us without hesitation for our #1 pick + player(s), without hesitation.

we should look at every player who is uncontracted, delisted, disgruntled or offered as trade bait

we need to consider every option available.
