The mail is they want Christian Petracca so whatever delivers him.

He is touted as pick 1 so they may not want too many draft picks. They may prefer experience. But they may think they have a better chance building a powerhouse with high draft picks. They will be under pressure in the next 2 seasons to show improvement.

Damian Barrett has a little more credibility than Jarman for starters, and the source he was quoting was Peter Jackson AFL appointed interim CEO of the MFC and highly respected Administrator within AFL circles.
Well, if Peter Jackson says they got pick 3, he must know that that is the compensation pick for Frawley.
It is nice to know in advance what compo you are getting for one of your player. Unless they are getting pick 3 from a trade?
If that were the case, do you think that:- 1) we would/should accept it. 2) Dangerfield will agree to it?

That's why I proposed doing this deal.

If that would to eventuate, I think we would actually end up with a stronger as a playing list after those trades.

I think anything less than a deal like that is unacceptable. Other deals I've seen have felt we are getting reamed. We should be the one in the position of power. We need to win in any deal involving trading Danger otherwise there's no point.

Yeah that's fair enough but in regards to the current situation with Danger, it makes it hard to trade him if he says he wants to see the direction of the club..
At least he's being up front with us if that's his word..

Take him for his word and back ourselves in is all we can probably do..
Trading him after he says that suggests we have no faith in ourselves, in our just announced appointments and is a culture killer..
Interesting few weeks coming up, that is for sure..

But they are not going to go to him and say - we don't beleive you will stay and want to trade you. I don't think they will work out a deal and then say, wew have traded you to Melbourne, will you accept the deal.

They would have been working on this for a number of weeks and have a good solid feel for him staying or going. If he gives an indication of leaving, they would ask him if he is open to a trade and he would be open to negotiate deals with other clubs. Then he either says, yes I will look or no - I'm happy to stay.

As much as the thought of losing Paddy breakes my heart. Club needs to think with the head. Imagine we knock back pick 2 and 3 for example and two years down the track these kids are megastars, Paddy walked a year later for "not much" we would be pretty upset. Also wonder about Paddy's longevity, the see ball get ball must be hard on the body long term. Would still break my heart though!

But whats to say pick 2 and 3 then decide to go home in a few years time we are back to square. If you fix the culture, players will not want to leave.

I thought the commission announced yesterday that they would not get a first round priority pick.

And it will be a discrace if they AFL give them a first round pick for Frawley leaving.
I gets a feeling you won't be very happy when the compo is announced. It's the perfect situation for the AFL. Get to look like tough guys in front of the other 17 clubs by telling the Dees they're not getting a priority pick while also having a way to help prop them up again by giving them the #3 pick for Frawley.

Hudson..... really

Bock and Davis situation will never happen again.

Tippett was our own fault. Coerced him to stay.

So that leaves Gunston.

Have a Bex and a lay down. Then have a shower to remove the sand from your bits.

Might as well have blamed the zodiac as well

All of those players have one thing in common, which you've ignored: they all wanted to leave. They had offers from other clubs and wanted to go

All of the wet excuses can't change that

If they recieve pick 3 for Frawley leaving - we will recieve the same compensation as Geelong did when Ablett left.

A lot of talk about trading / not trading.
Danger staying / not staying

What if Danger wants more money than we are comfortable with?
What if Danger wants more years than the medical team / list managers are happy with?

Does that change things?

i know he said "it's not about the money". But neither Skirt, Buddy or Ablett said it was about the money either. In the end players often feel most comfortable, find the right cultural fit, at the places offering the best terms.

I wonder if it's not just whether Danger wants to stay, but what he wants to stay.

Sydney needs Dangerfield. :D

He is a RESTRICTED free agent. We can (and will) match any offer.

He is going nowhere and from the results of the poll I can only presume that 48% of Crows fans are delusional

Sure we can match the offer but if he chooses he can nominate for the PSD. Just because we match doesn't mean he stays at the club.

That is a full of shit response.

I blamed us for Tippett.

I think you have the lights on an curtains open again. How's it taste? You serm to be savouring it.

Peter Jackson should concentrate more on making movies and less on poaching Danger.

We dont trade him.

We back ourselves to change the club and make it a place people want to play for. If in 12 months time this hasnt happened and he leaves then so be it but dont do it now. Our club cannot cope with the fallout from trading away a marquee player, THE marquee player of the club in the hope that the draft picks we receive can compare.

If they recieve pick 3 for Frawley leaving - we will recieve the same compensation as Geelong did when Ablett left.

That compensation doesn't exist though, it was specifically for the GC/GWS uncontractees.

Agree he's not worth it, but he'll likely be paid enough, with enough years on his contract to get the maximum compensation, a pick after his old clubs 1st rounder.

OK so let's pretend that everything is all honky dory and that he all the rumours that he will come back to Melbourne next year a farcical. That Rccioutto has never suggested that he may think about trading Dangerfield. That Dangerfield never met with Pendles today.

OK cya later I'm outta here.
Get it right. It can only mean that Pendles is seeking a trade to Adelaide. Does he go alright or what?

OMG!! Sloane is going to the Hawks!!
