i said a few weeks ago we should play the kids once our season is over.well its over!
however should we ruin the kids like hartigan, roach,,gilmour, shultz and krakour[to an extent]confidence by playing them along side such an insipid bunch of so called senior players ever to put on a tiger jumper?
would we better off playing all the kids with coburg and create a solid bond amongst themselves and away from the senior side?

thoughts?

cheers!

Play the kids but not on the bench.

Adelaide had a new player last night - and what did they do? They gave him ground time.

Useless to have kids playing on the bench all night - they're better off playing in the 2s.

If they're gonna play the kids, PLAY THEM - and give them over 2 quarters of footy a game.

Nobody wants to see another Anthony Banik situation - but Anthony got glandular fever which i reckon was the death of him as a footballer.

Very sad to see how he went, but the kids out there at the moment are showing the way - and as a supporter, i want to see more of them.

You can't play them all at the one time, but as they show form in 2s, they should be rewarded.

I don't think when they came into footy they had the grand ambition to play for Coburg. They want to perform at the highest level. Some will need a couple of years in the 2s to get up to standard, but those that are on the verge and are playing well, should be given a taste, and a good taste of it - not sitting on the bench.

every kids ambition is to play at senior level i agree.there time will come.
i just believe for the long term future of this club we have to sheild the kids from this losing culture.like i said let the kids develop thier own bonds amongst themselves and then bring that into the senior side.
at the very least they will play for each other.brothers in arms so to speak.

cheers!

We have introduced a couple of kids in Hartigan and Roach already. They are physically developed enough to handle senior footy. Archibald (O.P.) and Gilmour are injured. Raines doesn't have the body yet for senior footy. Jackson has school commitments. We can only play those who are ready for AFL and as froars said earn their promotion. We don't want another yo-yo Pettifer situation. I agree it was ridiculous leaving Roach on the bench until we were 10 goals down. If a kid is picked then put trust in him, give him a task and give him gametime otherwise what's the point having him in the 22. The kid would be better off playing a full game at Coburg.

Gilmour played his first game for the Coburg seniors last week and was reasonable by all accounts, if he can find some consistency in the next couple of weeks I would hope it isn't long before he gets a senior game. At least he'll be enthusiastic and have a crack if you go on the way Roach and Hartigan have gone about it.

Think back to TJ after the Saints Wiz Cup match.

The prblem with Frawley is that he came from a losing environment where losing was part an accepted part of the culture.

You want to let this guy get his hands on our kids?

I'd be happy watching Coburg play for the rest of the year. I wont be going to another AFL match until Frawley is sacked
