..and go to Optus this weekend to get behind the Demons! Not only do we need to get there to help them lift, but we need to get there to get enough numbers in to help us break even at the **** hole. This is a big game for us, and it's important we show our support and get behind the Demons!

BT - I look in your direction, are you going?? I am planning to come up and have a good day, and it can't be complete without having a beer with ya!

Anyone else is more than welcome to come along with us (Andrew!). And get behind the Demons!

Seeing as though less that half of Melbourne supporters will go to the match, I would say that I am Melbourne!

But the thing is, I actually have a life. There are other things I like to do besides going to the football. Shame you don't have the thought processes to realise that.

im with Andrew on this one. if he chooses not to good, its his perrogative. there r others things in life than football people, so if he chooses to spend his saturday doing something else, so be it.

Yes, I have no life.

but at least I am not a Melbourne supporter who can't go across one suburb to see their team play.

Pathetic (for one who Says - I am Melbourne - it seems many of your friends here are far more Melbourne than you)

Try and get this through your head. I know it will be hard. It is not a case of going one suburb to watch my team play, it is that I have other things I can or would rather do. Even if the game was at the MCG, I probably would not go.

Jars - don't bother starting this crap on here. Geelong tried it and failed. He obviously has more important things to do in his life, and if you can't get that into your head, then your the one with the problem! I am missing my brother's game this weekend to go, and that is a big thing to me.

Nah it was good, although I'm more used to dishing out the insults to other teams supporters (like the collingwood woman I got ****ed off with last week... ;) )
And by the way, I wasn't exactly quiet myself!

Seems it will be a big group, we better not lose! ;) :p

Glad to hear it! We might have a big group, but all of us may not sit together. Either way, it should be awesome!

Without getting into an argument again, I think it has to be respected that everyone has different levels of commitment to the Melbourne FC, perhaps due to work or school or not having a life.

If dees01 has something better to do then so be it. But what I can't understand is why you would say "especially out there". That's why people are having a go at you. Then a few posts later you say you wouldn't go to the MCG anyway. Sort of a contradiction really. You missing because of something else or missign purely because we play at Optus.

I didn't have a problem with CFH because he wanted to watch his brother (I reckon he made the right choice) and missed the Cats match - I had a problem with all the crap about the cold weather that he started off with.

Anyway, I hope we get more than 10,000 people out there this week. CFH good post to start with "show your support" - I agree with that.

I am the first to admit that I am not the biggest fan of Optus Oval. I was however at the Carlton game last year which we won! But I still think it is a dump and that is why I said that. If the game was at the MCG, I would half consider going. But I have a few options this week. I might head away for the weekend, go to the races or I might have a sudden change of geart and go to the footy!
Also I don't think you can have a go about my committment to the Club. I have been to every Victorian game excluding Round 4 at Optus. I even went to Geelong, and not too many did that.

bit harsh wouldnt ya say?? i reckon the crowd dont be too bad... all melbourne supporters know if a big match for us, and that we NEED a win - so hopefully that'll get them down there!

and the whole geelong thing... that was how many weeks ago?? nobody has to justify why they didn't or couldn't get to the game, so seriously, GET OVER IT!!

I reckon a massive crowd will turn up...who wouldn't want to see a top 4 side in full flight, McLeod's silky skills, Burton's high leaping (and occasional marking), Roo's physicality, so many stars will be plying their trade this Saturday at Optus, should get 20,000 plus to the game, regardless of how many Dees fans turn up.

Not saying you weren't committed to the club, rather we have to accept that some people have other commitments on that prevent them going to the footy, like work or school exams. I got a bit stuffed up above - no I can tell from reading this board that you are committed and passionate about the Dees. Sorry about that - I wasn't meant to imply you weren't a committed supporter.

Well of course :D I was referring more to the neutral supporter and the football purists out there who I'm sure would flock to the ground ;)

For pity's sake

I never said not going to a game was this terrible crime.

Everyone makes their own choice

I merely related it to someone who had as their signatrue "I am Melbourne"

If you don't go to most games I would say this was false advertising.

Nothing wrong with casual supporters at all. The more supporters the better.

I won't be watching the game on TV for what its worth. I will be playing soccer.

cheers
