Doughty out and VB in. Doughty was one of the worst in our side vs Collingwood IMO and VB should get a run.. the earlier the better. Skippy wasn't that bad.. IMO he's one of the 2nd tier players who have performed well during this season and late last season?

Does anyone think that we can handle ports 3 talls in the forward line??? they had Tredrea, Damon White and lade in there and absloutely crushed them there because of the talls and brisbane had Darryl White as the 3rd tall bakman. I'm worried about lade.. big powerful. Who will we play ob him? Basset??? Rutten???

Doughty & Skipworth out. I don't know who can come in but neither of those 2 should play AFL football again.

As much as I want new blood in this side I don't know if this is the week for it.

Agree with your outs, Skippy is not up to it & i have now jumped off Doughty wagon for the 3rd & last time as that was inexcusable that p*ss weak effort against a kid I've never even heard of.

If we had the replacements i would also add Bode, Biglands & as i much as i hate saying it Mark Stevens.

The count should be given a go if he deserves it no matter who we are playing & maybe it's time to give Ladhams another chance as well.

Ok i'm going - i dont want to really because I go with Power Supporters each year

I just have a really bad feeling about this game - this could after sundays effort be our first 100 point flogging by the power unless we improve in so many areas it isn't funny !

and i'm a dumb ass and i'll still tip the crows !!

The Paps will be long odds-on favorites for this game & so they should be as we are really struggling to get any system or momentum up & by the look of the first 2 games are playing to save the game rather than win it.

You just have to look at the Paps line-up & realize that if we don't control the mid-field for most of the game we could be up for a flogging.

That said showdowns are not the normal footy games regardless if most of the Paps themselves say otherwise & given we are led by the best & most inspirational captain currently playing in the AFL then we are in with a silly chance of victory.

Have faith oh fellow Crow true believers & be prepared to revel in one of our most gutsy wins ever. :)

No point discussing Ladhams, there's no chance he'll get an AFL game this week.

I fear you are right but gee it frustrates me. Here we have a player who can contribute significantly to our forward line and is clearly better than several players in our team yet he isn't anywhere near getting a game. I'm not being too critical of the selectors as I don't know the situation or the reasons but I just think somewhere along the line he has to be rewarded for playing good SANFL footy week in and week out. And most importantly he can help us win games, a lot more than several others anyway.

We need to play 3 ruckmen this week........1 (probably Biglands) to pick up Lade (or their fwd line ruckman) - 1 to rest in our fwd line - (keeps their tall defenders accountable) - and 1 on the ball.....otherwise we will get spanked for height.

Only saw last quarter and a bit but I thought Bode was brilliant in the last tenminutes. Won about four or five vital balls for us. Then again he was not good last week.

I think VB could come in for Skippy, who coldn't even run and kick a goal from 45 in the last quarter.
Bode was great in the last quarter, but ordinary up until then.

VB should come in.

If Clarke isn't fit, should we consider Meeson? It may depend on the weather too.

Must be McGregor

If Hart is fit, what about playing him Half Forward in a defensive role against Cornes?
How about Hentshel on Chad? We need someone on him who will make him accountable.

I really think we need to create a contest and have crumbers up forward the only real chance we ahve is to move the ball quickly up and have at lease a contest and then a couple of crumbers to have a shots on goal - this 3 tall business doesn't work for the crows unless Stevens is firing

this could be the return of the ladhams as a crumber - otherswise my shuback may get his turn

Going tall wont win us this game IMO, we need to be quick and crumb well

Leave johncock down back as well !

Few tough choices to be made this week. Assuming Hart is not fit, I'd do somit like:

OUT ----> Bode, Hart, Doughty
IN <----- Ladhams, Massie maybe, VB

Give Clarke some SANFL time. Skippy wasn't that bad despite a few people calling for his head. Hasn't been ripping games apart but then again he never will. Admire his hardness tho. Shirley is in that same bracket, not much talent just tries fairly hard. But once a couple of key players like Burton and Torney are right, I'd expect them to probably make way.

Only reason Port's playing so many talls ATM is because we've run out of midfielders that are out of nappys. I think the crows should try and exploit our lack of pace, lack of rotation in the middle. Thats a big part of how Freo beat us.

I watched the Central v Norwood game and young Meeson is still a long way from playing AFL. Not saying he wont make it but he will take a little while to come on, as most key position players do.

Crows full list vs Ports half list - should be a close game...

Phil Harper said that NC has been bitterly disappointed by Chris' pre-season. His fitness is not up to it and his defensive pressure is not good enough. Ladhams has been given a challenge to address those areas before he gets picked. I can see your frustration because I sort of share it with you as well but I can also see the point NC and the match committee are making.

Basically they are saying that every player that has fair dinkum crack will get a game. If you are not prepared to give 110% to this club you will struggle to get a game. Surprise, surprise its a Malcolm Blight philosophy.

Roo should be looking forward to this game without Carr. Assuming K Cornes plays on Macca again, I would consider starting him out of the goal square.

Kane, it will be interesting to see who we play on Roo as the midfield (and in particular through your captain) is the one area that the Crows have an advantage over Port mainly because a few of our midfielders are unavailable. I think either Shattock or Kingsley will get the job.

Port should still be too strong mainly because of superior rucks and forwards, particularly key position forwards.

Am I the only one here that thinks Doughty will not get dropped??????

Craig has shown enourmous confidence in him. Sure he has had a stinker on the weekend but in all honesty he is better than that. Something tells me NC will give him another chance especially if Hart misses with the injury.

Cassissi has been given a job in the past and I thought he did a reasonable job. I expect Cassissi to get Roo and Kane to get McLeod.

I agree Stiffy.

Dogga had a shocker but Craig will show faith in him responding. I guess we're all throwing up his name because he appeared to be caught in the spotlight more so than blokes like Stevens

Not a hope in hell that M Doughty will get dropped this week, in fact he wasn’t even dragged during his dismal last quarter efforts, IIRC

In: Clark (Van Berlo and Watts, wishful thinking)

Out: Mark Stevens (Biglands to play as that forward) (Skipworth and Doughty but they are also wishful thinking)

* Burton will not play and need another week.

HF: McLeod Hentschel Welsh

FF Biglands Perrie Edwards

And kick it to who ever C Cornes is playing on. Make him accountable and after every kick in the coach should instruct Trent Hentschel to TAG him, he has the aerobic capacity to doit, don’t allow Cornes to run out of defence and get easy kicks.

C: Thompson Ricciuto Mattner

HB Reilly McGregor Hart (if fit)

FB Bassett Rutten Johncock

R Hudson, Goodwin and Shirley (tag James or Franco)

Inc Bode, Clark, Skipworth and Doughty  (because they will not get dropped this week)

If Ben Hart doesn’t come up I would play Mark Stevens and look at putting Hentschel as that defender.

I dont think a Crows win is too unthinkable given all our outs at the moment. James, Lade, Ebert wouldnt be too match fit yet and Primus and Francou are still taking it pretty easy.

I would like to believe that we are shoe-ins....we were meant to be early last year too and lost. All you need is the midfield to get on top and youve got more than a good chance of winning.

You are at it again :p

Your reverse phsychology always works :(

My 2 cents -

FB: Hart, Rutten, Basset
HB: Johncock, Mcgregor, Shirley
C: Reilly, Ricciutto, Mattner
HF: Hentshel, Perrie, Edwards
FF: Biglands, Welsh, Mcleod
1R: Hudson, Goodwin, Thompson
INT: Skipworth, Bode, Clarke, Van Berlo

Out: Stevens - ******** Form, Doughty - In the words of Barass "Weak as ********"
In: Clarke, Van Berlo
