Who comes in, who goes out?

Surely VB is VERY close to selection and would be a big chance to get a game. Ladhams had a ripper for North but according to Phil Harper's comment he is still a few weeks away.

Surely Port would have to go in as favourites and rightly so.

Not sure what Phil Harper is going on about, because Ladhams is in better form that either Bode or Skipworth, whom both I would drop to debut Van Berlo. I gather Clarke & Burton would come under consideration, though I wouldn't risk the Birdman.

Surely Doughty's spot would be up for contention this week... looked out of sorts today... would take a punt early and say Van Berlo would be under serious consideration to fill this (potential) hole!

Thought Bode's game was quite good today.. considering the amount of times he is brought on and off the bench his ability to get into the contest and into the play and under the packs to hold up collingwood today was valuable... he should retain his spot for this week... He'll be up for a big game against his former club this weekend !

If birdman and clarke are fit they'll obviously get a look in... but doubt any risks would be taken on them this early on... still a long year ahead !!

I'm quietly confident that we can give port a good contest this week... Sure they're a good side but the crows managed to stifle the west coast last week with a much more talented list of players, especially considering ports injuries and suspensions... And some confidence can be taken from today's scrap despite the comedy of errors it ended up being !

Will be a true test of where adelaide is at with no home ground advantage to take into consideration !

I wouldnt like to be a selector this week, especially if Burton is fit.

If Clarke and Burton return Doughty Bode and maybe Reilly would be nervous.

The other non performer is Stevo! Did he play today

Clarke in but leave Birdbrain out for 1 more.

Supposing Ben is fit....

IN: Clarke, Ladhams
OUT: 2 of Bode/Skippy/Shirley/Doughty.....much of a muchness

I wouldn't debut The Count against the Paps......and I'd play 3 ruckmen to stretch their defending talls otherwise we could have a Wakelin taking marks at will for the second week in a row !!

Looking at the quality of Port last night (until their last quarter fade out) they are streets ahead of us in terms of a team unit (depth) and individual talent.

Really though, our midfield should be able to get the upper hand. If Roo, Goodwin, Edwards, Macca and Thompson play at their peak, it could be interesting. Only problem (!) is where are goals are going to come from.

If Ben Hart is fit, then...

Out-Doughty
In-Clarke

If Ben Hart is unfit, then...

Out-Hart, Doughty
In-Clarke, Ladhams

Birdman is still another week away, isn't he?

Mark Stevens is a concern, but I would still play him this week. I think Doughty is the only one that warrants to be dropped, based on current form.

Port are a class act & will be hard to beat. Nevermind their snoozefest in the last 6 minutes of the Brizzy match.

B: Hart, Rutten, Bassett
HB: Johncock, McGregor, Doughty
C: Mattner, Ricciuto, Reilly
HF: Hentschel, Perrie, Edwards
F: McLeod, Welsh, Biglands
R: Hudson, Goodwin, Thompson
I: M Stevens, Shirley, Van Berlo, Ladhams

In: Ladhams, Van Berlo
Out: Skipworth, Bode

Rutten v White, McGregor v Tredders, Bassett v resting ruckman

Shirley as insurance on the bench if one of their midfielders is on fire (eg. James).

Stevo should start on the bench as a reminder & come on when Biglands relieves Huddo in the ruck.

Use Ladhams up forward when midfielder (usually Roo takes himself off) is rested on the bench & Edwards/Macca move into the midfield.

We can beat the smears if McGregor holds Tredrea and our forwards actually lead into space...mark and kick straight

I think I saw one lead and mark today.
Our forwards were never gonna mark that crap kicked on top of thier heads today

McLeod will need to shake the Cornes tackle and I agree Kane stick him in the forward line

can u bring bock in to play on tredders or better still get smarty back coz he said he had a few tricks for him

just building up the week lads - itll be a cracker

nothing like a showdown week (aprt from GF week!!)

You'll have to take my word for it but the second time is better :p

You should be so lucky to get Bock v Tredders. I would seriously feel ill (yet again) if that occurred. I'm sure NC has learnt his lesson. McGregor is the best matchup for sure, with Rutten a chance if he plays at FF.

With no Bishop to play on Perrie, will C Cornes be able to do the job? Wouldn't be surprised if Chaplin gets a go leaving Chadly to play his quarterback-role. Hope whoever is on him, makes him accountable!

Agree. I also think that if Dogga is dropped Begley or Massie would be a good replacement. Unfortunatley neither of them are in great SANFL form at the moment, so its hard to justify their inclusion. Get well soon Jason Torney!

They were never going to mark because they didnt turn up. How can you say the kicks were on their heads...that means they ran under the ball?????

Oh and if Adelaide play like they did today we will be smeared across Footy pk

No point discussing Ladhams, there's no chance he'll get an AFL game this week. Assuming Ben Hart is fit and Brett Burton will be given another week on the sidelines (Clarke too, I think I saw them somewhere both listed as two week injuries), then there should be very limited changes, mainly because we have no one else to bring in.

As stated, VB is the only real chance (considering everyone else's SANFL form), and he's obviously close to a game. I don't think we'll lose anything by giving him a match and he's the type that should handle the occasion reasonably well.

VB in, either Doughty or Skipworth out for me. I think Bode is slightly better value than either and as Kane said, we might need Shirley for a tag.

Anyway, it goes without saying, but if we play at all like we have the first two weeks, we'll get a bath.

We're going to struggle to kick goals against the Power and their forward line is working nicely. To be competitive we'd need to absolutely dominate the midfield and on paper you'd think that was a chance, however it never seems to work out that way in these contests.

I can see us utilizing the uber flood next week.

Here we go again Rucci will fill the 'tiser' all week with his anit Crows crap.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm can we win, if we kick enough golas yes we can win, even though Stevens is struggling a lil at the moment we must persist with him, cause once he gets going he is pretty hard to stop.

AFC will have a good strong side this week, and Port after only just scrapping over the line wont be abound with confidence.

Crows by 11 pts for me :D

This week:

Out: Skipworth ( returned to the sanfl for good ), Doughty,
IN: Clarke, Burton or Lahams.

Next Week:

Out: M Stevens/Shirley ( returned to the sanfl for good )/Bode ( if they have shockers against Port )
IN: The Count, Knights ( as a tagger ), Watts or Kruger.

Only saw last quarter and a bit but I thought Bode was brilliant in the last tenminutes. Won about four or five vital balls for us. Then again he was not good last week.

I think VB could come in for Skippy, who coldn't even run and kick a goal from 45 in the last quarter.

Must be McGregor

If Hart is fit, what about playing him Half Forward in a defensive role against Cornes?

Looks like Bishop will play this week

Ok i'm going - i dont want to really because I go with Power Supporters each year

I just have a really bad feeling about this game - this could after sundays effort be our first 100 point flogging by the power unless we improve in so many areas it isn't funny !

and i'm a dumb ass and i'll still tip the crows !!

Doughty & Skipworth out. I don't know who can come in but neither of those 2 should play AFL football again.

As much as I want new blood in this side I don't know if this is the week for it.
