Showdown 45 looks set to be a big one. Port are attempting to secure a Top 8 or possibly even a Top 4 spot, while the Crows season may be very close to over, they’d love to put a huge dent in Port’s chances so we can expect a very hot and fierce contest, even better with the ledger all square at 22-22.

Brodie Smith returning from injury to play his first game in 331 days is a terrific story. Good on the lad.

Can Port clean sweep the Crows for Season 2018, or will the Crows get revenge for “flashpoint! Stevie Motlop...what a time!” and keep their slim finals hopes alive?

Until then, please enjoy this :)

never get sick of that footage

Jonah has certainly opened up some wounds saying he hates the Crows

How did they expect him to answer?

".......as a foe, i respect them as a highly professional organisation and industry innovator....."

Actually, more than likely that's exactly the response they expected.

Bickley's article in the cowvertiser today was a bit odd in trying to drum up interest, saying that if we hadn't won in May then the cows would be playing finals and we wouldn't. The ladder now has them 9-9 and 98.3% to us 12-6 and 116.2%. Had they won it would be 10-9 and 99% to 11-7 and 116%. While it's true with their run home they would have a better chance to say they would be in finals at our expense is a stretch.
I would like to think that if we win that would shut him up for this year at least but I'm afraid that won't happen.

Absolutely he gave them what they wanted. Good on him for not watering it down

Robbie Gray to kick 8 in a quarter ;)

But seriously, they seem to be taking a punt on bringing back a host of players who have missed a fair chunk of games - eg Douglas and Smith - and we look like we match up well in defence, with Jonas on Betts, Hombsch/Clurey on Walker, Doogs on Jenkins and DBJ on Lynch. If it rains, and we choose to play direct football, our midfield is bigger-bodied and more suited to heavy conditions, and getting it forward quickly allows Dixon, Gray, Wingard, Motlop and Watts to compete one-out.

This is like Round 22, 2016 in reverse.

We were 9-11 at that point and they looked destined for Top 2 so naturally, we weren’t given much hope of winning.

But we pushed them to their very limit. They still prevailed but we did enough damage to sabotage them for West Coast the week after, costing them Top 4.

This is similar because we’re going for Top 4 while their season is as good as over, if we’re being honest. But the one thing they’d love most is to damage us as much as possible. Coincidentally we also have West Coast at home next week, like they did in 2016.

But of course let’s hope this time is different in the sense that we do get that precious Top 4 spot.

Who does he think he is, no one hate the Crows!

Or atleast that's what they all firmly believed until this year and they copped it from all angles as yet again they get exposed as the ratbag organisation we all know they are.

Steven Motlop chats about the sealer in the last Showdown, and what needs to be done for the rest of the season
