Ebert to Laird. Rate Laird very highly. Ebert up forward appeals to me. Nullify Laird rebound and has advantage in air.

DBJ to Betts. Clurey to Lynch. Jonas on Walker.

Limit impact of these players we win. As long as Ryder does not let Jacobs have one of his showdown specials

Whats funny is i know same crows supporters, they are the typical pensioner supporters, no memberships, don't go to games and only player they know is Betts.

They absolutely loathe port but for the life of them cannot comprehend the fact that i feel the same way about their "lovelyboys" (yes they do use this unironically ) they always spew "but soufstraya", hatred for their team is complete foreign.

I always thought people can't be that dense but here we are.

Dems not da facts dat yuse is spewing Lukey !! why I even remember dear old Mods :thumbsu:

I like the Ebert to Laird suggestion. Good kick for goal too

Just had a play with the ladder predictor.
Make no mistake, the finals series has already started.
I hope Ken has realised it.

I don't care who we are playing, we simply have to win everything from now on.
No excuses, our best efforts are required every week.
Its time to put up or shut up.

Personally I plan to do my bit by ripping the membership pass off the neck of some doddering old crowie in Rundle Mall on Saturday and taking their place at the game. I figure that if we all did this, we would have the home ground advantage.
This is one of those times where you must do everything possible to win.

(ok I may have been joking in the last paragraph)

Yes, Ebert to Laird is a good move. He is their main avenue out of defence. It’s important to disrupt this, plus Ebert will kill him in the air.

Strangely, not so fussed on matching up on their forwards. They have so many options up forward and we have so many options in defence, the match ups will be a moving feast all day.

In the guts too, it’s just pit our boys against theirs. We won’t single out any of their guys for special treatment from the outset because they aren’t in great form yet. Just hope Ken reacts quickly if one of Sloane, Couch, Gibbs starts to get on top.

I wonder how SPP will contend with the 40000 plus boos he will receive from crowd. It was bad enough listening to the idiots in the first showdown. It will at Adam Goodes level this time.

Cows will name their strongest team [on paper] for this season I would think.
Yep on paper will be strong. Bringing back Smith, Douglas and Mckay off long layoffs may be risky, but they each have quality.

I reckon Mcgovern will miss though.

Don’t know why we’ve struggled in ‘away’ showdowns since the ‘04 flag, makes zero sense.

If we were to win just one more game this season, then this MUST be the one!!!

Good and if they beat us it'll be because we weren't good enough on the day. Maybe it's because i'm getting older but the hyperbole
over showdowns is wearing off. It's worth 4pts in a national competition. That they and their army of talking head ambassadors
want to make it more than what it is, is imo a suck-in to their narrow jaundiced perspective.
Truth is they're barely relevant anymore this season. Sure a win would be good but buying into their self centred hype is pandering
to their notion they still mean anything and for 2018 anyway ... they don't.

Agree with Kens comments, if we are good enough to play finals we deserve our spot with the hard run home.

Whilst our form over the past month has been sh!thouse, it's not as if we are coming up against the Bombers of 2000, this is the Crows of 2018 who have been worse than us. I really can't understand how we could be going into this game expecting anything less than a win.

The Crows will throw everything at this game, they've got not much else to play for this year, so to get a showdown win will at least give their customers something to hang their hats on. But anyone who thinks they've got more incentive to win then us is flipping high. We literally have everything to play for this week.

Imagine getting this win and going into West Coast with a big home crowd and head full of steam, i feel this weekends result will decide our top 4 fate.

Port by 8.....that famous number we would always win by during the good ol showdown days.
