It's always a funny study case when the crows lose a Showdown suddenly they are on their thrones of superior morals & ethics, suddenly 'Port Power Est. 1996 not the same club' has a long history of thuggery "they nearly killed Graham Cornes that day" as well as master translators of boo-ology.. it's like a mental ward.

Every 2-3 Showdowns on average the preconceived bigotry seems to flare up.

My favourite is Josh Jenkins’ moral outrage on Twitter for allegedly hearing an underage Port fan over the fence using bad language, and resultant “WhAt Do YoU eXpEcT?!!” pile-on from the usual handwringers who think we’re all toothless ferals who dropped out in Year 6.

Interestingly, the full match video replay of this game is still not available on the AFL website.
All of yesterday's games are available. AFL trying to get some doctoring done?

I have it available on Disney+ and WatchAFL.

The AFL should be feeling like a parent before a kid who deserves both punishment and praise for the same action.

It was pure football rivalry on display.

I'll give whoever deserves it the credit, but I liked the post-game presser how Zak was talking about how the week leading in was focused on us. It was clear we weren't going to get sucked into any bullshit and brought down to their level and we didn't. Good.

I love trash-talk before a game, but I love even more when football enters the conversation. We replied it properly for once.

Caro on Footy Classified said that when Hinkley went to talk to Nicks about Rankine, Nicks told him That was a flipping* dog act.

Kane pointed out maybe Nicks should stop finding excuses for the crows losing and concentrate on actually winning games.

*didn't say flipping

The best thing about them realising that he's a showboating squib is the fact that he's contracted to 2029.

That's absolutely wild for me. What a shocking contract for a player who consistently goes missing when the pressure is on.

Nicks has totally bought in to the Crows' sense of entitlement and woe is me attitude.

Adelaide's "best player" (Ranking) had 2 goals but just 8 disposals on the night prior to getting knocked out in the second half of the 3rd quarter. It's not as if he was setting the house alight.

Let them continue the excuses though. That attitude is going to get them absolutely no where.

Na he's tried to take it, back to the opposition and spin away. He's failed to take and hold onto the ball.. It's not a squib.

He's squibbed several other contests but there's nothing wrong with that one.

He's too busy positioning himself there to win it clean and break away, rather than just getting the ball first, and the old adage of thinking before he's got the ball has seen him fumble.

Just to be sure, is there a chance that Hinkley was talking to him about Thilthorpe's tunneling?

His pace is so important & he uses it so well to cover defend. Was really disappointed in Logans game tonight. Have loved him every other game hes played, hope it's just a one off poor game.
He at least made Rachelle look like a coward on one occasion, so it wasn't all bad.

That reminded me of those games where the Maggies had been playing shite for much of the game against Glenelg or the Eagles. Timmy G or someone similar would start something and the trigger would flip: in a good way for us and badly for the opposition.
Most notably the 1994 GF against the Eagles - we fell 6 goals behind, so Timmy took matters into his own hands, and the tide turned.

how dare we target their best player, a player who can get sucked in easily

who would think a club would do that

heck they can get morally outraged so quickly after a loss..

Just like Dennis Lillee wasn't bowling like a flipping old tart, hey Chappelli?

I can't see Rachelle staying in Adelaide for that long, the dude has a massive ego, he will want to get paid the big money.

He has done everything wrong in a two-team town.

Players as soft as him are rarely one club players.
