What would help getting back to winning showdowns is moving back to day games. Why because they dominated 2/3rds of third? Second we were on top didnt maximise our chances
I’ve never liked us with night Adelaide oval games.

The wardrobe girls have to pack his jocks with those little sachets of silica gel before every segment. It's like watching a corpse desiccate before your very eyes
Rankine bounced twice in 10 metres. Crows supporters probably thought he was entitled to run a few more.Crows won't like hearing Ray basically saying all those frees called were there. He didn't go into the ARC but he can't anyway. All those clowns saying the push into butters back is soft and not there and the rankine bouncing twice lol.. and even rachelle push into Evans back making Milera goal not count. All frees. Wonder if they'll cry more.

Which is what kept annoying me when they all kept saying he bounced twice!! even rowie on 5aa.. I'm like, do you even understand the rules of the game?Rankine bounced twice in 10 metres. Crows supporters probably thought he was entitled to run a few more.
Actually, Collingwood don't have a wayyyyy better record in close games than us.If you're going to be a smartarse about this, Collingwood have a wayyyyy better record in close games than us. They've even beaten us a couple of times in close games under McRae. They didn't even lose on Thursday night, they salvaged a draw when they had key players out. They didn't even play on Friday night by the way...
Only time Collingwood had a run winning close games was the year they won the flag.Actually, Collingwood don't have a wayyyyy better record in close games than us.
In the last 10 years in games decided by single digits, they've won 30 and lost 22 (57.69%)
We've won 26 and lost 21 (55.31%)
In the last 5 years (the McRea era), they won 18, lost 7 (72%)
We won 17, lost 9 (65.38%)
So, why don't you just take your sorry ass back to the Croms board.
You know you'd be happier there. I know we would.
They were extremely lucky to get past GWS in that prelim.Only time Collingwood had a run winning close games was the year they won the flag.
Everything went there way that year.
Was a major factor in them winning the flag.
This is our standard post showdown pose isn't it?
Perhaps but at least our coach isn't smiling this time. This is our standard post showdown pose isn't it?
Was both years. As in 2022 and then 2023 where they won the flag. So 2022 they were in majority of the games close at the end and only a goal give or take in most of them, even the preliminary that first year. Show the port team the last 2 minutes of port v pies in 2023 on how they did stoppages and that to take time off. Was frustrating but they won by a goal. That was the year both were 1 and 2 on ladder even though pies didn't go all the way.Only time Collingwood had a run winning close games was the year they won the flag.

He was smiling 40 seconds before the game ended thinking it was all over.Perhaps but at least our coach isn't smiling this time.
Judging by Hammer's comments in his presser, Sweet should have known that.He was smiling 40 seconds before the game ended thinking it was all over.
Maybe he should have sent a message out to Sweet to keep it tight from the center bounce instead of knocking it into the open.
8-1 record winning games by 10 points or less in 2023.Was both years. As in 2022 and then 2023 where they won the flag. Just happened that pies were on the winning side for those close games both 22 and 23.
Port were in alot of close games too except unfortunately losing them.
Sweet definitely should know that being in the system as long as he has.Judging by Hammer's comments in his presser, Sweet should have known
To be fair to Sweet, it was less than a minute earlier that his aggression and brilliant hit out to Wines led directly to the Berry goal. He probably just didn’t get time to reset to zero after being juiced up to his eyeballs in adrenaline. It wasn’t stupidity, it was adrenaline-fuelled euphoria that caused him to try to hit the cover off the ball.Sweet definitely should know that being in the system as long as he has.
Unfortunately as we all know not all AFL footballers are smart.
Some need more instructions than others.
Bottom line is it should have never happened.
Winning close games makes a big difference, you just got to look at Collingwood in 23.
PS how the fk does Hammer still have a job after his wooden spoon year.
So because I'm angry Port lost a Showdown to the Crows who are our most fiercest rivals, I should post on the Crows board? Um ok...Actually, Collingwood don't have a wayyyyy better record in close games than us.

It was clear as day when I saw it “right in front of me” at the ground. There was no grey area with that one, despite the carry on from Fruit tingles fans over it.I was surprised seeing the Rankine ran too far again, that he actually did run too far.
Which of the decisions that went against the crows actually warrant the nationwide outrage?I was surprised seeing the Rankine ran too far again, that he actually did run too far.
We literally just got paid freekicks for once that we'd never get paid and see paid against us weekly. We won the freekick count by 2, it's not the major differentials we're on the end of at least once a month. **** off morons.Which of the decisions that went against the crows actually warrant the nationwide outrage?
If you are being technical you could argue a strong case for all of the main ones mentioned being correct.
The media and public support they’ve got even from our own weirdly (apparently we somehow got lucky for losing by a point) has been crazy.
It didn’t even cost them the game too, we were the ones that lost and ultimately from a tiggy touchwood free kick awarded to rankine.
It’s scary to think how they would’ve reacted if they lost. Are they pissed off they didn’t get a percentage booster or something. It’s insane.
The thing is a minute or two before that Sweet demanded the ball for a free kick and stupidly tried to switch play but hit no one which resulted in the non-goal from Milera. To be fair to Sweet, it was less than a minute earlier that his aggression and brilliant hit out to Wines led directly to the Berry goal. He probably just didn’t get time to reset to zero after being juiced up to his eyeballs in adrenaline. And perhaps that’s the main lesson he needs to learn from that incident. After you’ve just pulled off the possible match winning move, make sure you calm yourself completely before you take the next hit out.
Not only that, but pestling then picked the ball up with one hand after he initially dropped it. Had one arm pinned, then literally just let it go with no attempt to get rid of it legally. The umpire was right there with his whistle in his mouth and let it go.
This incident sticks in my head like it was yesterday, it was holding the ball every day of the week, he could have been done for holding or incorrect disposal.

And its also really disappointing see Port people in the media just going along with the poor hard done by Crows narrative as well. Like Cassissi on the Two Team Town podcast. Like ffs, point out that the Crows weren't the only side that had dodgy decisions against them on the day.Not just that, but there has been zero discussion on the crappy decisions that went against us.
It's the advantage they have of one-way media in SA.
Gerard Whately bangs on about Show me all the pushes that aren't paid ... well show me all the decisions that weren't paid to Port.
