Of all the things to do as ruckman when you're a kick up and a minute to go, hitting the ball into space would be ranked #998 out of #1000. Its literally what the Crows would've been trying to do.

Surely they had a conversation as a group beforehand to plan what to do?

One of the stupidest things I've seen in some time given the context of the game.

I hope this string of close losses can help us develop composure for these moments. If we managed to close it down and get another stoppage we can then get players back and organised in defense, as well as soaking up more time.

Its actually funny, its not the only time Sweet has done this. Clearing smashes from him cost us 2 goals in the SF v Hawks in 2024. Clearly they dont talk about and learn from these things.

It's quite simple. You pointed out several things they did better than us. No argument there. And yet we found a way to almost win in the last minute, and lose by a point. So we clearly did a lot right. I haven't poured over the stats, but the scoreboard doesn't lie. You can't get any more black and white fact than the final score.

So no, we were not outplayed all night. That's pure hyperbolae.
If you think that was the football we wanted to play, if you think we were in any way, shape or form, good in what we did youre kidding yourself. We just hung in there rope a dope style and got super lucky. We play like that again and we lose that game by a far greater margin nearly every time. The way you play is important, the scoreboard can hide a lot of evils, see the Hinkley era, we were outplayed for the majority of the night and more importantly what weve been seeing from the team the last few weeks fell apart. Relying on luck to keep you close or score a win on the scoreboard is not a strategy for success as you seem to think. Tonight unfortunately had very few positives.

We were not the better side, we were crap for 90% of that game.

Like 2 of our goals were from the way Carr wants us to play. It was just hack kicks and sloppy play on crows terms.

Rozee’s obviously a big out, but what this team really needs is a fit & firing SPP. We look so much better when he’s up & running.

Really want to see how SPP plays in a well structured team. He could be dynamic or a liability, but would certainly help break lines and put speed on the ball in a game like tonight.

It actually wasn't that bad until somewhere before half time they start kicking to the contest on the wings instead of finding targets. I expected the coaches would talk to them and they would be back to strategic kicking when they restarted, but it just continued after that, except perhaps for a bit near the end.
Coincidence when we started doing it again we started to score eh? Ahh well. Hopefully this is highlighted to the players.

They never do, Nicks has been playing the same song for years and we fall for it over and over again.
Like blind Freddie can see how the Crows play against us.
What a record nicks has over us now. Probably bordering choccos when we had a string of wins over them. We don't look like beating this side for years anyway. Grim.

Crows don't have much talent but what they do seem to get right is being competitive all game and having more composure than us in these games. We are mentally piss weak and have been forever.
I actually don't think tonight was a case of being mentally weak at all. We actually came back when challenged. Tonight was a lot of skill execution errors and giving them way too much latitude out the back of the contest. We set up one way and that was for us to win it on the inside and when we didn't they had too much free space. Their disposals were only mildly better than ours in the end when it counted. Both teams had some really poor execution

Not gonna keep going back and forth bandying your perceptions and analysis, which is only your perspective, as fact. It is not. The scoreboard is the ONLY objective measuring stick. If the Crows had kicked inaccurately an argument could be made, but they did not. It was 11.10 to 11.9. Have the last word if you wanna keep repeating yourself.

Georgiades keeps costing us games. He's a liability in front of goals when we need them the most.

Again, I hated the result, but geez it felt good to be emotionally invested in the game again - which is a complete turnaround from the last few years. Hinkley's departure has been a godsend!!!

We were literally 13 seconds away from beating them tonight you bellend

I’m trying to work out if that was nearly a dumber last 40 seconds than the dawson after the siren showdown.

If the crows won the tap and got the clearance on their own like we did against hawthorn in 2024 I could handle it but they didn’t we just handed it to them.

90% of the game?

It was half of the third qtr, otherwise we controlled the game. The only way they scored was pure stupidity on behalf of our players.

Wines had 30 possessions and a goal with only 64% play time. He was playing well, and if he played 80% I reckon we win by a couple goals. Particularly when Butters and Horne faded at periods, he stayed consistent and looked our best Mid for long stretches.
Wines looks a better player under Carr, i must admit i have not been bothered if we traded him in the past, this year I'm eating humble pie, he's playing well and i believe if he was not serving a suspension we would have won two more games.

A side that just had a 5 day break coming from Brisbane with 2 out in the bench all game. If we get another opportunity like that maybe.
Why do you keep making this objectively incorrect statement even after it's been pointed out to you that it's objectively incorrect?
