Tagged, complimented and insulted in the space of 15 minutes....

I do feel sort of dirty posting here, but you know you gotta branch out sometimes. :D

Just to make sure I'm on the same page here I assume that any banter mentioning the First Showdown, Kurt Tippett, the Ramsgate, Steven Trigg, Ricky Henderson, Richard Tambling or the Crows Preliminary Final record in the last 10 years will see me receive naughty points?

Hmm.......so what do we prefer........a prelim loss or the greatest ever losing margin in the history of AFL grand finals, that will never be broken, 119 points? Just let me go and ponder that one. Thanks for the heads up. ;)

A little boy from Adelaide is in Rome on holiday with his family hoping to see the Pope.

A couple of days after they arrive, the Pope is doing a tour of the city in his Popemobile. The little lad is a bit worried that the Pope won't be able to pick him out in the crowd, so his Mum says “Don't worry, the Pope is a footy fan, so wear your Crows jumper and he's bound to pick you out and talk to you.”

They're in the crowd waiting anxiously when the Popemobile approaches but drives past them. It stops a bit further down the street where the Pope gets out and speaks to a little boy in a Port 'Power' jumper.

The boy in the Crows jumper is distraught and starts crying. Against her better judgement, his Mum says “Don't worry, the Pope's driving around tomorrow as well, so we'll get you a Port jumper and then he's bound to see you.”

The next day arrives, and the boy's got on his new Port jumper.

The Popemobile drives straight up to him. The Pope gets out of the Popemobile, shuffles up to the boy, bends over to him and says, “I thought I told you to f**k off yesterday.”

I actually almost feel sorry for the rude shock Poort are gonna get on sunday. They've beaten easy beats and suddenly all the muppets on their board think theyre world beaters! Theyre in for a serious reality check!

To be fair, they would be looking at what the Crows did last year and consider their position as similar.

Given the “trend” of a bottom 8 team from the previous year making the top 4 the following year I can see why that would think they are a red hot chance to replicate that – given no other team looks likely at this point.

Have gander at the Koch thread on their board. Hilarious!

Bagging the shit out of him before he was appointed, now down on their knees for their hero

Haha was about to post this. I remember before he was appointed that many were embarrassed he was associated with Port! Now he's a champion :D

Bit like how they hated the diving Angus Wantfrees but now he is a superstar who has "played in ANZAC day blockbusters" ....thus making him a gun apparently?? :D

Oh and let's not forget that Tippett is now one of the AFL's best who we miss dearly, despite being referred to as Spud Tippett when he was playing for Adelaide.

Just another day in the life of the hypocritical scum :thumbsu:

How is that any different to Crows supporters talking up Tippet's trade value during trade week (before the contract came out) who now call him a spud? Don't forget now that Josh Jenkins is more than capable of filling Tippet's shoes and some...

It happens everywhere.... not just Port supporters

Hope we can can go out there and belt them. They've been in good form but they need to be reminded their first two games we're against Melbourne and GWS. They've yet to play a decent footy team this season. Hope they come crashing back to reality.

I still think it will be close though.

Yes and that won't be the case until next weekend....bbboooooooo

We've thrashed two easy beats. You've narrowly beaten one easy beat and lost to a mid-range side at home. I'd take our start to the season over yours.
Round one is rarely indicative of a season and Brisbane IMO are far superior to Melbourne and GWS. Particularly at the Gabba. Yes we werent great but a few key players started to find abit of form and click into gear. IMO Adelaide have a better midfield, ruck department and forward line. Defence is about even. Adelaide by 10 goals + if they can return to their best.

I don't think you'll see too many Adelaide supporters calling him a spud now. Annoyed, jacked off that he screwed over the club, want to put a brick to his face? Sure. But I don't see many questioning his ability.

And yes it happens everywhere. Port just happen to be repeat offenders.

I wouldn't...I really would not.
You talk yourselves up at the start of every year. It's fun watching the bewilderment and hurt, not to mention getting out of the way of the howling mobs bearing flaming torches and pitchforks down Alberton way.
I guess if you keep on with the yearly vaunts then you must eventually be right.
Won't be in 2013 though. Your mob has a loooooooong road to travel back to the top 8.

Being the only team in the AFL pathetic enough to lose to both GWS and GC in their first seasons - I can understand why after winning 2 games they view Hinkley as the second coming of Jesus.

Although I must admit I am very happy they moved David Rodan on. He always plays well against us....

Now we just have to take care of Justine and the showdown wins should be all squared up.

When you go to the game, and you don't see any advertisements for the national disability insurance scheme, it means Port Power (wheel chair or gofer power accepted) hasn't enough funds for it marketing department to able the club to utilize its membership base to the full extent.

one of the joys of the showdown has been reading how much better Ports midfield is than ours.

apparently we area amazing overrated and in reality are easy beats just waiting to meet a tough team in the Power.

edit - oh and the myths are starting to resurface, apparently only Crows fans ring 5aa to air their displeasure, not only that we are "famous for it"

I really forgot how dumb the main board can be.

Its especially good considering that Jay Schulz was there 3rd best clearance player on the weekend with 2 clearances. They also lost the clearances to GWS 38-25....

I don't want to hear it.

The Power are the form team, with a better midfield an uncomplaining support base and are set to be the powerhouse of the comp.

I hope that every Tealster sends Whicker and Olsen at the SANFL a thankyou card.

Thankyou for ousting Mark Haysman and putting in someone who knows how to run a Footy club. The appointment of Keith Thomas as CEO by the SANFL is the saviour of the club. Without him there would be no Hinkley, no Burgess, no Koch and Renault would not have got on board.

I really hope Matt Thomas gets a game as there is just nonone left to hate at the Power these days. Justin Westhoff has newfound respect in my eyes so I guess I will just have to go with Kane Cornes, and the only reason I don't like him is because of his Dad.

Game should be quite close, but Crows to run over the top of them in the last I think.

Their mids will be very good in a couple of years but nowhere near as good as ours at the moment.

Walker to kick 6 and Leroy to star.

If we get the ball into Tex and Jenkins fairly well they will have a field day. Carlile and Trengove struggle against genuine key forwards. Hendo will also be a handfull for them.

Are you referring to the Mark Haysman the "Crows fan" the SANFL put in there in the first place? Turn it up. :p

Are you being generous here? ;)
