If his name was Barry Hall and he played for Sydney he would have got off that. Pretty much identical to his hit in the 2005 prelim but a lower impact than Barry.
The system has changed quite a bit since then

That was before this system was in place. And one of the reasons the curretnt system came in place.

Rhys Palmer got off an open and shut textbook case of bumping a player high over the ball, just because he plays for GWS. Brogan elbowed Shuey in the head - thats fine too. Priddis tripped and concussed. All clear. I would be fine with Shuey going for that but for the fact that when our players get injured no one else gets suspended. Hit an Eagle and you'll be fine. It always seems like the AFL is holding us to a higher standard than other teams. Its bullshit.

Geez some of you guys are so precious. I dont see how it could be any less than a week. MRP having something against WC hah give it a break

Its not that they have something against us, its 'the force' is not with us, as Victorian commentators used to gleefully point out around the 05/06 period. The force being a euphemism for Demetriou and the AFL. They are not going to rub out GWS players. NLM was never going to get rubbed out for the Dreamtime game. Barry Hall could have shot someone and the AFL still would have cleared him to play in the 05 GF. That's just the way the AFL is, they are not interested in the integrity of the game, only to make money and meet their end of year objectives. If you think differently, you have your head in the sand.

The MRP panel was a compeltely different kettle of fish back then. He would most certainly have been rubbed out if he did it now due to his previous bad record + the levels at which the offence would have been rated.

Stop whinging, you're as bad as the supporters saying theres a conspiracy going on in regards to our free kicks at home

I think your tin foil hat is malfunctioning. The match review panel has suspended GWS players at least two GWS players I can think of off the top of my head, quite possibly more, so that part is just blantantly false. No way NLM deserved to go for his tackle on Priddis. He didn't trip him, it looked like he was going to but he got his leg out of the way. You only get suspend for those sling style tackles where you drive the players head into the ground, Priddis' was simply due to the force of them both falling over. The Hall incident is one of the main reasons the MRP was restructured to the current system.

To say that the AFL wouldn't suspend someone because they want more money is pretty poor reasoning imo. The vast majority of their money is completely independent of who is playing in a given game because it's al tied up in TV rights deals. Shuey deserved the week and the MRP has been very consistent on this sort of incident this year. There is no conspiracy.

Article on the AFL web page about the "Shamed Shuey" http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarti...mpaign=fe7d375a36-Runner_R10&utm_medium=email

Particularly found this interesting:
Defender Will Schofield fronted his teammates following a two-game suspension for striking Richmond's Jack Riewoldt off the ball in round five, and Worsfold said there could be similar value in Shuey addressing his ban with the players.

"Luke will address it with the team if he feels as though he's let them down or he wants them to learn from what he's done," Worsfold said on Wednesday. "He'll explain why he thinks they can learn from it.

I'm guessing he is feeling pretty bad this afternoon and very dissappointed with how and why he was unavailable.

IMO we would have won today with his quality around the packs, one of our best wet weather players.:(

I'm tipping a BOG 4 goal game against the Blues.:thumbsu:
