Haha. Quality. He should hit a tougher bloke next time.
He should hit a tougher bloke next time.
The system has changed quite a bit since then
If his name was Barry Hall and he played for Sydney he would have got off that. Pretty much identical to his hit in the 2005 prelim but a lower impact than Barry.
Geez some of you guys are so precious. I dont see how it could be any less than a week. MRP having something against WC hah give it a break
Its not that they have something against us, its 'the force' is not with us, as Victorian commentators used to gleefully point out around the 05/06 period. The force being a euphemism for Demetriou and the AFL. They are not going to rub out GWS players. NLM was never going to get rubbed out for the Dreamtime game. Barry Hall could have shot someone and the AFL still would have cleared him to play in the 05 GF. That's just the way the AFL is, they are not interested in the integrity of the game, only to make money and meet their end of year objectives. If you think differently, you have your head in the sand.
"The Verdict" on the AFL website said it was medium impact, not low. Hence the 6 activation points.
Extra inertia created by the ducking motion as he laid the punch - not surprised you missed it in real time tbh.I'm happy for him to go for the incident but I'm not sure how the footage revealed the incident as "medium impact". Go figure.

Dammit, I thought the week for hitting Duffield was bad enough, now this from the Courier Mail:
"The Eagles will be without young gun Luke Shuey after he was charged with striking Fremantle's Paul Hasleby in Sunday's derby victory."
Dammit!

Defender Will Schofield fronted his teammates following a two-game suspension for striking Richmond's Jack Riewoldt off the ball in round five, and Worsfold said there could be similar value in Shuey addressing his ban with the players.
"Luke will address it with the team if he feels as though he's let them down or he wants them to learn from what he's done," Worsfold said on Wednesday. "He'll explain why he thinks they can learn from it.
