Nothing wrong with it. Completely blown out of proportion by Steven Kernahan.

From what Footy Classified showed, there was nothing to it and it wasn't provocative or an attack at all. The way I perceived it, it was more about Malthouse's coaching ability and less about Carlton's current state.

Eddie is in the media and has every right to an opinion. True, his opinion can be a bit unnecessary given his position as Collingwood President, but this isn't one of those times.

Keep on going Eddie!

absolutely.

my very first impression of sticks response was DIVERSION.
kernahan was happy to have a carlton issue arise that wasnt about their performance on the weekend, or his reluctance to ever do anything to hurt his mate ratten. hence the over the top response.

youve got this one wrong dave.

been wanting to say that for 2 days ................

I just find it amusing that Carlton are accusing Eddie of 'unsettling their season' .... maybe if he had of said this 4 weeks ago. Any old excuse for the Blues. They'll never arrive.

In my opinion it was a master troll by eddie and i have absolutely no problem with it. He was sticking it to carlton for trying to get malthouse while he was with us. The fact that kernahan reacted the way he did only proves that it was true. He refers to us destabilising carltons season because i wouldnt be surprised if ratten was kept in the dark on this. Maybe ddie knows something we all dont? Malthouse going there next year maybe? Thats the way i read in to it...

I think it was a great tactical move by the President of the Collingwood Football Club - there can be little doubt that the constant speculation on the hand-over at the Pies last year was a source of distraction, draining energy from the entire playing and coaching group. It may have even cost us a flag. At full strength Carlton is a flag chance this year - and Eddie knows that, hence why he played the "Malthouse/Carlton" card this week. The facts are - That Carlton approached Malthouse last year, whilst he (and Ratten) were currently contracted. That the choice of Ratten has never sat entirely well with the Carlton masses. That the expectation was for a Top 4 finish and a preliminary final. That Malthouse will be a looming spectre all season long. No matter what Kernahan, Carlton, Ratten or Malthouse say this issue will burn all the way through the rest of the season, flaring up whenever Carlton lose. As we saw first hand last season - it is a distraction you don't want. It will affect the players and it will certainly affect Ratten and there's not a damn thing they can say that will make it go away in 2012. I say well played Eddie.
