You sound like a shit manager who's suspicious of everyone (probably because you are a skiver). She's probably really sick.

Who the **** asked you idiot?
You sound like someone that'd take a sickie if your goldfish died!
Do you think i don't know my staff well enough that I could tell whether they were genuine or not? Some of my staff I have no suspicions at all, others have a history that they build up, bit like the boy who cried wolf.
Next time, keep your judgement to yourself or harden the **** up, it's workers like you (assuming you'd be able to hold down a job) that define this generalisation.
I've read enough of your whingeing posts over the years to understand that:thumbsd:

Mr Smooth must be smoking some good shit! He thinks working at maccas is on par with working in real estate.

Most people who work in real estate usually have as their only other employment. People in real estate are glorified human conduits, they don't create anything, don't generate anything, don't do nothin'.....just stand around trying to sell something that sells itself. Completely useless.

You keep believing that, we'll keep raking in the money :thumbsu:

Who's to say that thumanmunson isn't being paid well?

Just on real estate agents - I know of a significant number of people that didn't graduate from high school that have gone into real estate. I also don't know anyone that did well in high school that went into real estate. If it is as relatively easy to get into in order to make such big dollars, why isn't the number of people vying to be real estate agents huge? Forgive my ignorance for I am exactly that - can't say I know much about real estate at all, but am genuinely interested in the answers to these questions.

Sorry, i didn't mean to offend you, you just sound like a really shit manager and person.

I also wondered this...

well done on your quick assumption there pleb.
how the **** would you know what sort of manager i am? i'm guessing you're in whatever union there is at your work and your probably the site rep as well, unless that sounds like too much hard work for you.
good luck being a follower all your life, but then again, you'll probably go through life blaming whatever boss you have at the time because "they treat us like shit", continually the victim, shifting the blame onto someone else.
as for being a shit person, my work has nothing to do with how i live my social life, what a shallow minded little jerk you must be.
no wonder you complain so much about having trouble connecting with people when you call them not only shit at their work but a shit person as well after reading one post.
do me a favour and put me on ignore, i'm sick of reading your self-wallowing bullshit all the time

tl;dr, FERRIS is an arseh*le.

I think what people might be trying to say is that a manager deriding their employees as soft and being rude to them because of that is not really a good image. A curt skeptical response and nary as much as a 'get well' is pretty unproductive - to a genuinely sick team member it's insulting, and if they're lazy it'll just get them further offside and make them slack more.

Slackers suck, but unhappy team members who dislike their boss are worse.

I think it's like most jobs in Sales - if you have a particular talent for it you can do pretty well for yourself, but it's bloody hard work with long unsociable hours and a lot of luck involved.

I'd wager the vast majority of estate agents work uncommonly hard for the amount they get paid. Also I know a few guys from high school that brag about what they pull in, and whilst the money is attractive for a young person it tops out fairly early. You don't get the same steady income growth with seniority that you do in other careers.

Just had a voicemail from a lazyarse saying they were sick and wouldn't be in tomorrow, after having a day off today. They then said they'd text me to let me know about Friday.
Shot back, "doctors certificate required for tomorrow, you'll ring me not text about Friday"
Ffs, some people are ****ing soft.

I know there are people out there who take sick days because they think it is their god given right, but some people genuinely do have illnesses they don't think they can talk to their boss about. I don't think it is fair of you to assume this person is "****ing soft" as you put it. Some people shouldn't make assumptions on reasons why they are having days off...

i agree, part of being a good manager is knowing your staff well. as previously mentioned, if you do know your staff reasonably well, you do know who is taking liberties and who is genuinely unable to work because they are simply too sick. a headache is not a headache to everyone in the workplace, to some it's a migraine, some a headache and some a tumour.
some staff have a heap of credits in the "emotional bank account" and you don't bat an eyelid when they call in sick, others have "form" and you know when it's coming e.g. a monday or friday and after a long weekend.
what shits me is posters who have no idea, making judgements on people they don't know and generalising all people who claim they are sick. 95% of my staff are legit', the other 5% make you think twice. (i used to call in sick when i was a lot younger the first sign of a decent swell and offshore winds, so i understand both sides)
anyone who has had experience managing people would understand this.

if i could show you their history of sick leave i would. but thanks for the lesson on understanding people, i'm pretty sure they covered that during induction.

I don't think it was what you said, it was how you said it. But your comment to Caesar makes more sense.

possibly, just don't like to be told i'm a shit manager AND person by someone who has no understanding of the situation.
the reason i understand about the sickie falacy is because i was one of the biggest offenders during my teenage and early 20's years. then something funny happens and you grow up, problem is my offender hasn't grown up, she's in her 40's. (cue nicky and the feminist argument)
