Nah. With McAsey you couldn't see glipses. Pretty early in the piece it seemed obvious to me that he couldn't read the ball in the air.

Draper, the glipses have been there.
And he was so slow.

But Draper is showing the same issues as his draft year, lack of poise, disposal efficiency. Except draft year he racked up the possessions.

Why ??

Not everyone develops at the same rate especially when they battled a few injuries along the way.

Its irrelevant what other picks are doing at this point.

I guess some people saw him in the Brisbane pre season game last year and thought "This is what we have waited for"

And now he is where he is on a HFF in the SANFL, I guess we are just impatient because we got a taste.

Dangerfield also lacked poise and disposal efficiency. I think sometimes you just have to get these guys into the team and let them cook. Let him develop on the big stage.
Fatigue also plays a part in causing errors. He just doesn’t have much match fitness yet.

We are still seeing signs though. His excellent hands in tight alone haven’t gone away.

Played midfield all night last night.

I get that for sure, but there's plenty of time.

Hes got the talent and the attitude to succeed

As long as he is truly over his groin injury. Get that fully fixed first and then hope for long term health and no further serious injury problems

He's picking up touch at a good pace. Lot more bursts away and is even starting to get the confidence to slow down a tad on them in the last quarter.

Also a good time for a SANFL bye, can load him up on running/fitness next week and really gun for prepping him to return to the 1s in round 7-8.

There is plenty of time for him but not a heap for this playing group. I get we are still a young group but things can change quickly. We need him playing a good part in the AFL side asap.

I also think it comes down to expecations. He will play ten years of AFL but unfortunatley he isnt going to be the abosulte game changing gun midfielder we hoped for. Doesnt make him a bust but I get the dissapointment that some have.

I think those are things that improve with experience and confidence. My general rule is I think you're just looking for traits early in a players career. Are there signs of something that could be an AFL weapon. I thought we saw enough to think so.

Our treatment of him in his first year seemed designed to destroy his confidence, so thats not really helpful.

What's the go with this guy? Is he in the crows future plans?

He'd be perfect at the Tigs, any chance he's available at the end of the year?

Yup, definitely is. Just struggling with a bit of a nasty injury run.

When this guy is match fit and ready for AFL games, bring him in and develop him in the 1's and in the guts

Given our midfield woes need him to come on as intended
