yeh i had it thrown in my might buy category

still WEREN'T really any reviews around for it when i looked previously...the ones i'd read rated it alright but were terribly written

also i doubt anyone will be playing it online

3 days ago was when i last looked up the reviews since i kinda lost interest in it...and that's quite a while in terms of gaming reviews for a currently released/upcoming title....

i'll edit my other post.
 
2 hours to finish a game of Civ? No thanks.

I see posters mentioning Civ 2 and 4. I have gone the other way. Played lots of Civ 1 till Civ 3 came out and still play Civ 3 most days. Other than "cultural flip" still a dam fine game to play.

Wow! Someone who likes civ3 the best??!?! had no idea you people even existed.

Civ4 is the best, followed by 2, then 1, then 3, then civ revolutions.
 
i quite like it. I have heard of alot of interest from others around the place. When it is released in the US i expect a decent amount of onliners.
 
been playing for a couple of hours now and it is definetely a welcome change of pace from my normal gametypes

glad i made an effort to try something different

fun game but definetely not for everyone....
i can understand how KP wanted a bit more hands on stuff where he could control each and every aspect of the evolution of the civilisation...but for me, any more stuff to take care of and i'd probably lose interest because there was too much to worry about

only lil problem with this game for me is that there's some slight slowdown....which is weird considering there isn't really that much action on screen and the graphics are just average but all in all i'm happy with my purchase
 
Ive played through about 5 or 6 games and it is starting to get a bit tiresome.

I will have to start uping the difficulty to max and doing some of the scenarios.

Still a good game and being a turn-based strategy game is different to most other things on the market.

I got addicted to Civ from the early days and can say at one stage, when I found the Scenarios for Civ 3 I was in Nirvana - especially the Aussies versus Japs etc... in the Pacific Theatre Scenario - until Civ 4 was released and cannot play Civ 3 at all. I've been addicted to Beyond the Sword ever since it was released and leaves the original Civ 4 for dead as well. The enhancements make it easy to play again and again.

I can't see 'revolution' getting me off Civ 4?

from what you've typed i'd say (after reading it in almost every review of this game) that civ rev is probably dumbed down a bit too much for your likings if you're so used to civ3 and 4

but civ rev does also have the scenarios game types.
 
Yeah, I'd reckon 'revolutions' would be for people not used to playing any of the original civ games. A bit like smoked salmon for people who haven't tried real sashimi! ;)

Yeah it's been done well on the xbox, the controls are intuitive and easy to use.

1000 gamer points are pretty easy to achieve as well.
