Yes they will.

India is the perfect opportunity to bring in a younger bloke like Hazlewood.

Siddle was dropped in South Africa are losing pace an penetration over a number of years. He then was very mediocre in county cricket and has followed it up with the last test.

I don't see why we have to stick with him and waste a good opportunity to get some experience in a young, in form up and comer.
I think we'll just to agree to disagree mate. I think he's been solid in the last couple of series but ultimately I couldn't care less either way.

If he continues to play for Australia then the selectors see it more my way that he's still a valued member of the team, if he's dropped then Victoria benefits as a result and with how our shield side looks to be shaping up, he would be a welcome inclusion!

He was a solid servant during a tumultuous era for Australian cricket, quite often leading the line during the 2011-2013 period, when he was at his peak.

Early doors, he was frustratingly inconsistent - he bowled too much short crap and lacked guile (e.g. not moving the ball enough + seemingly never bowling around the wicket).

During his peak, he bowled a fuller length with much more guile, typically getting the ball to hold its line but sometimes moving it back in, and he used the shorter stuff far more sparingly.

Unfortunately, he lost pace and so became a holding bowler/injury cover/English specialist.

But I would never doubt his passion or commitment. Even with the bat, he was quite often good for a plucky 20-40.

I wish him a happy retirement.

Speaking of his plucky efforts with the bat;
I went to a test series in India in 2013...In the 4th test at Delhi, Siddle scored a half century in each innings (50 & 51 if I recall) & became the first No.9 to ever score a 50 in both innings of a test match...Not sure if it's been replicated since then.

yeah i remember that well, it was also watson's only time he captained in a test match and maxwell opened the batting and bowling. this was the game after the ridiculous homework gate.

yeah the homework gate, gave smith a spot in the team and he was added immediately to the touring squad to england for 2013 and never looked back since (missed 1 thru injury ashes 2019 and suspended for 9 tests)

he had previously played 5 tests in 3 years.

Bhuvi Kumar did it just over a year later but he's the only other one.

Nice work...Out of interest, did you find that through Statsguru on Cricinfo?
I attempted to look up the stat a couple of times the last few years, but failed miserably.

I remembered that match as it had some of the more ridiculous tail end batting I've ever seen (Anderson also made 81 batting at 11 and he and Root put on 200 for the last wicket).

But I worked out there was no others through cricinfo. Just have to set parameters as number 9 bat, set the format as match totals and then the result qualification as 100+ runs and then sort through the relatively small amount of results for any that were 2 50s.
