With Beams playing so well last week I think hew has taken Lockyers role away from him. Beams was good across HF and can go on the ball and be damaging. I think Lockyer can still play a part this year but i think he will have to work for it.

Would be happy to go in unchanged. Possible N Brown out for match up reasons but I don't particularly think I'd be replacing him with any of the emergencies. If Davis doesn't come up then one of J-Mac or Tarks should play I can't see any other reason to change the side.

On Judd I am not sure we have a tagger good enough to do the hard tag job. I am on sticking to the theory we used last year of giving a guy like Thomas or Wellingham the job at stoppages and then trying to hurt him by making him run the other way in general play. The only question being how will that impact their own games personally as they have been important for us.

I think Brown/Reid both playing will depend on what Carlton do with Henderson.

We might make a late change on game day.

Even if they have a resting ruckman forward we might need them both regardless.

Lockyer to come in for Davis if he is knackered, or Macaffer if the match comittee is impatient with him (which they should not be as we are still winning games by 10 goals).

Our structure is the most important thing, I think we've found a winning formula for some sustained success - as evidenced by the ball being in our forward half for the last 3 weeks for what seems 70% of the time.

We need to tag Judd, he is in impressive form, but it doesn't need to be a straight out tag, we could for instance put someone like swanny ( not necessarily him) on him to go head to head, attck when we have the ball and negate him when we don't, instead of restricting him to a number of possessions, put our best mid on him and let them fight it out. Just a suggestion

We shouldn't place a hard tag on Judd.

Simply put, at the stoppages and when we don't have possession of the footy, somebody needs to stand him (just like every other player out there) and be accountable for him, however, the sole focus should not be on "stopping Judd at all costs".

I'd mix it up. Throw a variety of players on him when we don't have the footy such as BJ/Daisy. Worked very well for us last time because we know both those players will attack and make Juddy accountable the other way.

Yeah, very happy with that. The structure last week looked so potent, every cog and wheel seemed to fit together nicely.

Excellent, just what I was hoping for. Dawes gets another shot. Go kick a bag big guy! Force Mick to keep you in!

I'd say Buckley will probably sit out tomorrow nights VFL game, as he can play both back (Reid) and forward (Davis) to cover for the 2 players who have injury rumors about them.

Lockyer has to play VFL, he missed last week, and needs the run, and so does McCarthy, more for form then anything else.

I hope it stays at no change though, I like the look of that team against the Scum.:thumbsu:

Exactly my thoughts; except that Dawes should be barely competing for his spot right now, let alone having to kick a bag to keep it.

His two main rivals are L Brown who didn't play last week, and JA who did play VFL last week but didn't look like it.

I think it's Dawes' spot until someone kicks down the door to take it off him. Of course, I'd love to see him make use of it and really assert himself up forward and on the scoreboard. :)

Well Mick has a history of dropping fringe players at the drop of a hat, I'm still worried Dawes could tie his shoelaces wrong and get booted for Lockyer. I just really want him to string some games together, get comfortable in the team and really have a good fist at FF to see what he can do.

I think if Reid had a problem they would've thrown a tall amongst the emergencies.

Agree Dawes has no Real Oppenent for his Spot. L Brown should only come in if there is Injury JA is a 3rd Tall the Only player in the Reserves who could take Dawes spot Possibly would be Rusling but he would only come in late in the Season if at all

Agree he get some games in a row more then 3, so he can get Comfortable and hopefully show what he is Capable of

The thing with Dawes is he makes Trav a better player too, in that Trav is less likely to have to deal with 2 defenders and can stay closer to goal because they can alternate roles.

I'm happy with no change.
