MM has been known to debut many players on ANZAC day.
I think Caff last year, Wellers 2008.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets a call up, especially given his so-called horses for courses.
Did have a late start to the pre-season though. Needs a good game on Sunday in the VFL, showing some of that dash.
While I see a lot of truth in this I think it is unlikely that Buckley will play in the event that BJ is fit and playing. I just find it hard to see who will be dropped for him. If Brown is dropped it will be for a forward or a back, if Macaffer is dropped it will be for Anthony, Fraser or Jolly won't be dropped considering the Hille/Ryder combination and if they are it will be for Wood. None of our current mids are in line for the chop at the moment and Lockyer won't be dropped (nor should he). Toovey won't be replaced by Buckley purely for the reasons of pace because, (1), whether he uses it or not, he has it, (2), MM likes him and, (3 and most importantly), we need a player capable of locking down on smalls and sticking to a job. We need more than just Harry, especially if Davey plays and Johnson is played more as a running player than a pure lock down player anyway.
I think Thomas will have an absolutely MASSIVE Anzac Day. Lock it in.
He used to be inconsistent but flashy/brilliant and an occasional match winner. Now he is consistent, hard running but not doing anything overly brilliant. I think in front of a big crowd and with it being such a big fixture he will for once combine the two. He is in good form ATM but for some reason I have a feeling that this game might be career turning for him. Just a hunch.
