Sharrod :(

I'm not real happy Shane O'Bree is in.

O'Bree is the only choice, Beams is doing so well at half forward, no need to throw him into the midfield yet.

O'Bree just slots into the midfield rotation, will have over 20 stats, 7-8 tackles, a few clearances and do his "part".

Dunno, but I hope to god he isn't, really don't want O'Bree to play either, our midfield is looking very "classy" at the minute and O'Bree coming in ruins that.

O'Bree will offer nothing to the team IMO, in ALL of his games this year he has looked old, slow, and completely lost with the pace of the game.

Bad Selection.

But on the other hand, how good is it to see Woody in there, hope to god he has a good game and keeps Josh out for a few weeks.

I guess Mick does not Trust the Kids in Steele and Beams to play On-Ball yet

Not a fan of Obree anymore, hasnt impressed in the VFL either he is just a hack these days way to slow as well.

Or doesnt want to unsettle other areas of the ground unnecessarily

We have lost wellingham and replaced him with a mid, instead of moving someone in from the forward line and making another change there

Could be but Also could be don't want to Injure the Kids

But why not bring in Tarks on the HFF and chuck one of Davis/Beams/Didak in the center?

Presti's fine, could have played 2 weeks ago if we actually needed him, so it is good to see MM giving Reidy and Brown some time.

Had to laugh at Woody on the B&W show, didn't make it tough for the viewers to guess that he was getting a game this weekend.

Am I worthy of a red card for saying I'd nearly consider bringing in Cook over SoB if we purely wanted a midfielder to replace Wellingham? I realise Cooky is a fair bit more outside though, but ****, at least he'd give us some dash.
My preference would have been the same as mdc's though, would have preferred Lockyer on the HFF and Beams to start resuming his run in the midfield, even though he has looked very dangerous up front.

Yes, well i hope he plays his part or even better. It's just that i don't really like Shane O'Bree as a player much anymore, and i'm just that shattered Wellers is out.

And 19 of those will be cheap kicks that will go to the opposition.

Seriously, I'd rather Lockyer was selected.

Thought we were past bringing back guys who were finished. I was so happy when MM dropped O'Bree ,Lockyer and Leigh but to bring him back when we have one injury is bullshit. I agree with Invig I'd prefer Cook over O'Bree and that's saying something. O'Bree was pathetic in the vfl just turning the ball over kicking the ball out of bounds on the full. I dare say if Jmac wasn't injured he would've come in. A younger guy would've been a better option even Rounds. Just bloody frustrated at the moment and if Leigh and Tarkyn come back in a few weeks I'll throw up!!!

I think Wellingham out will hurt us. He has been so good, and was an obvious choice to tag Wells. Suprising that Buckley didn't get the gig in his place.

Good to see Wood get a go...and O'bree has put together some terrific VFL games so has earnt his spot.

The idea is generally that the worse player tags the better one, not the other way around.

Wells has has a decent month, but there's absolutely no reason to tag him. If our midfield performs, he'll have minimal impact.

Well I will go on record as saying I think Cheesy is a good inclusion and I reckon he'll be in our best 5 on Sat. night. Yeah I'm disappointed Wellingham is out back Cheesy is a wonderful footballer and has been a fine servant of the Pies for many years now. I refuse to write or slag him off and instead I praise him for the wonderful attitude that he showed when he went back to the Magoos (which must be tough for a player of his standing). He is a great in and under player and has been shown by Ball these player don't necessarily have to rack up the stats to have a great/significant impact on the game. It was only a couple of weeks ago that this forum had a bucket load of 'supporters' were displaying all sorts of venom towards Luke Ball, in the same way.
PS to all of those slagging Cheesy off, forget about your alias on this site who are you really and how many AFL/VFL games have you played?

I love Obie but in my opinion, he was terrible against Werribee last Saturday night.

There were many players better than him in Thomas, Barham and Blair.

Oh man, losing Wellingham is huge, he's been fantastic so far. Don't get all the O'Bree hate though, he's the obvious replacement. As long as when Wellingham returns he swaps back out then it's fine. Wood coming in is great, really needed that second ruckman we've been lacking.

Does not mean you played well and still get a game Espically if Mick has Respect for you

Things I've learnt from you lads:

1) young players tire as the year progresses and tend to fall short at finals time if not carefully managed

2) clubs routinely obfuscate when it comes to injuries, to facilitate list management

Clearly Welly hasn't been dropped on form, and this is the first we've heard of his "calf", so I assume he's being rested so that he'll be in good shape for Freo.

Things I learnt from Dale Thomas when he was interviewed on SEN this morning:

They asked him, "Who's the best player at Collingwood?"
He answered, "Dane Swan."
They asked, "Who's the most underrated player at Collingwood?"
He answered, with some conviction, "Shane O'Bree."

Erghh, not that little chestnut again...

It's the Josh Fraser defence, also commonly referred to as the 'Chewbacca defence'.

We're playing North Melbourne, guys, don't forget that. The loss of Wellingham would hardly hinder our chances.
