... Things I learnt from Dale Thomas when he was interviewed on SEN this morning:

They asked him, "Who's the best player at Collingwood?"
He answered, "Dane Swan."
They asked, "Who's the most underrated player at Collingwood?"
He answered, with some conviction, "Shane O'Bree."
Yeah, I too heard that. He said it with a lot of conviction, without hesitation.

Would personally like to see Jaxson Barham to get a game, but whatevs, we'll be on top of the ladder at the end of the round and we'll be flying.
Hasn't earned the right to a senior game.

His disposal is still terrible, and has been outplayed consistently by the likes of Goldsack, O'Bree, Cook and even Corrie (when Corrie plays).

I'd say Ryan Cook isn't out of the running to get a game at some point, especially if we don't promote Blair at round 11.

Two excellent inclusions I reckon.
It appear that fate and injury are even doing their bit to get all the boys a bit of a rotation going on.

OB will be handy versus the Roos and Wood gets his chance to show how his form is progressing.

Pretty much all you could ask for really.

Am I worthy of a red card for saying I'd nearly consider bringing in Cook over SoB

No but you are worthy of a card for changing your avatar, even to her...

Who is that blonde?

Back on topic, I really like the way our team is shaping up moving forward. Rather than being a one off tilt this year, we are actually building towards a Brisbane / Geelong like dynasty where we could potentially be the team to beat for several years in a row, rather than being called over achievers, i.e. 02-03.

Like for like virtually with the ins.

Unlucky for Shaz. Thank god he will be back next week.

Also good to see Jack and Tarks among the emergencies.

They seem very close to selection and their time will come again, particularly Jack.

No Presti again this week either is interesting. Hopefulyl he is ok.

Our current form has been built on the back of tackling and pressure so I think it is a no brainer bringing O'bree in. We are not a Carlton or an Essendon (thank Buckley), we don't need to rely on just speed and optimism, we have enough class on the field that we can bring in a guy who's main attributes are one percenters, experience and leadership. O'bree has given us 10 years, he is no hack. All the haters need to go back to posting under their Carlton logins.

Better O'Bree than McCarthy or Cook.

Still not liking the lack of Presti.

I like the selected side this week.

IMO they have picked good replacements for the outs.

Shattered Wellingham is out.

Although would like to see Jack come back in very soon.

I hope we line up something like this:

B: O'Brien Brown Toovey
HB: Shaw Reid Maxwell
C: Thomas Swan Johnson
HF: Beams Cloke Didak
F: Medhurst Dawes Davis
Foll: Jolly Pendlebury Ball
I/C: O'Bree Sidebottom Macaffer Wood

Presti's fine, could have played 2 weeks ago if we actually needed him, so it is good to see MM giving Reidy and Brown some time.

Had to laugh at Woody on the B&W show, didn't make it tough for the viewers to guess that he was getting a game this weekend.

Am I worthy of a red card for saying I'd nearly consider bringing in Cook over SoB if we purely wanted a midfielder to replace Wellingham? I realise Cooky is a fair bit more outside though, but ****, at least he'd give us some dash.
My preference would have been the same as mdc's though, would have preferred Lockyer on the HFF and Beams to start resuming his run in the midfield, even though he has looked very dangerous up front.

Calling for Cook in is red cardable in my books, the Spicey one and Quicky out voted me though.

I am with MDC and multiple others and would certainly bring Tarks in and through Beams back on the ball.

I would have loved to see McCarthy brought in for Beams HFF flank role, with Beams given Wellingham spot in the middle. If McCarthy was fit that is. O'Bree is the next best fit so no complaints. I just hope it's not another permanent return to the 22 for O'Bree - we've just looked so much more dangerous in his absence.

That is my main worry with O'Bree being back in what if he personally plays well. How long will his stay last. Even if he plays well the team balance is out with him in the side. The midfield loses so much pace and class. I hope it is a short planned visit to the one's.

PS to all of those slagging Cheesy off, forget about your alias on this site who are you really and how many AFL/VFL games have you played?

The answer is the same number of games that you played.

Of interest is that you are from Perth. How many games have you attended. I ask this question because watching games on TV is completely different to going to matches. If you did attend matches it would be clearly obvious that O'Bree rarely makes a lead despite having no opponent. O'Bree continually runs around poking holes in the air. O'Bree continually turns over the ball. And our midfield in the past 2 weeks has been awesome with O'Bree out of the side. He should have been delisted last year or the year before. O'Bree is obsolete just as Rocca was obsolete the last 2 years that he hung around the club picking up his sizeable paypacket.

Good to see Wood in.Obree is playing for his career so not a bad replacement

amazing how quickly how our team has evolved in 2 months

I love how our team has evolved. Was just speaking to my brother about it, about how my best 22 at the start of the year is probably 5 different than what's being put on the park but I was wrong. How valuable is Wellingham now and how good is it to get O'Bree as a "replacement".

Gee where is the love???

I always thought it was spelled Sharrod Wellingham ;)

Testify brother!

in all honesty though, how is cheesy the ideal replacemet for wellingham? sherrif has pace, skill, clean disposal nd has been one of our best midfielders this season.

cheesy on the other hand is slow, woeful with his disposal and wasnt even named in the best for the vfl team this past weekend. surely if gavin brown didnt think much of his game in the 2's he cant be up for senior selection.

hope sherrif gets back soon but if were looking for a replacement at least get someone with a bit of pace i.e barham/buckley...their disposal cant be much worse than obrees

Well, he has his opportunity this week.

If he plays poorly he will be straight out again the following week.

However, if he plays well, he puts pressure on for spots, which can only be a healthy thing for the footy club.

Ideally, I agree with the notion that he throws our balance out somewhat and probably isn't best 22 anymore, however, if he keeps putting his hand up the pressure is on the rest of the team to keep their spots.

Had to hold ST in a locked vault for a few hours and sedate him. Ohhh, the dirt does NOT come off.

Few I would have prefered before OBree, especially with Ball in the middle as well. Lockyer, Rounds for HF or Barham, Buckley in the middle.
